Have two hole in ones, witnessed 4. The last coming at Gray Plantation. Letting a foursome thru on par 3, one player aces the hole. Cool part about it, cart girl comes by a hole later and the guy who aced the hole bought us a round of beer.

Watched my dad hit one on a par 4.

35 years of golf and I have never witnessed a hole in one. I have made several eagles from the fairway on par 4's and 5's as far out as 160 yards.
Last month Santa Marie #2. Hit the pin and could not see the ball from the box. My group was pumped. I was sure it was in. High stepped it to the green only to find it hanging on the back lip. Hole was also pushed on a 40' putt... most disappointing birdie ever.

Buddy of mine chipped in for eagle on a par 5 at Dumas. Then next swing holed out with a 5 iron on the 200 yard par 3 out there. I haven't witnessed one since, except on tv of course.

Well Ive had 2 myself but witnessed another. My Brother is a pro and saw him once hit one ten feet over the flagstick and back it up into the hole. Pure Magic!

I've hit two and seen one.
The one I saw was the guys 4th. He's a better than average golfer.

I've seen one. It was raining, buddy hit a shot a touch fat. Hits the front of the green and skips forward. Ball disappears. I said "I think that went in!" Shooter laughs and says nah, skipped over the green. I insist. One of the other guys thought I was messing with him.
The shooter and two other guys are looking for the ball. I'm standing there and say "you want to check the hole or should I?" Still thinking I'm messing with him, he let's me. I creep up, peer in and jump back and tell him he better come get his ball.

Yes..
Setup:
A few weeks back at Fossil Trace in Golden, CO.
I believe it was the first Par 3 on the front .. I was on the next tee box.. teed it up and happened to look back at the flag. All I saw was a ball go in and the flag shaking (with that unmistakable ball striking pin sound) ... it was incredible. Looked back to the tee box and the guy was on his knees with his hands up. Awesome stuff.

One. Horrendous.
The guy skulled the ball over a canal/hazard and into the knob guarding the green. Had just enough height and speed to pop the upper portion of the hill and pop up.
We all laughed because it was a skull, and nobody reallly looked. The guy who hit it just bent over to pick up his tee. Knowing he'd be over the back of the green.
One dude watched to see if it went into hazard. And laughed. He looked at the guy and said "you gonna start fricking jumping up and down? If went in."
We thought he was full of shite until he pulled the ball out of the hole.
I've never really been close. Put a ball mark about 6" from the hole. But it was a 3 iron and was way too hot to have hopped in. If I had hit the cup I'd have dented it.

Does Putt Putt or Tiger Woods PGA count? If so, yes. If not, no.

Saw one, Greystone during scramble. Dude won a Jeep. I was on tee box next to green when in the following group guy steps up and on his first shot of the day, holes it.

I witnessed Ole Man make his first on 17 at Beaver Creek at the ripe age of 100. He almost had a heart attack. Then on 18 his feet never touched the ground on his first two shots. His third shot was a 20 yard bunker from a downhill lie and he holed it. Good times.

What's the story? Was it a purely struck shot like the pros? Or was it a blind squirrel type of thing?
I've witnessed two in my group. My dad hit one that was a well hit ball that rolled in after landing a few feet short and checking. The second was literally the first time a buddy played and he hit a 5 wood on a 120 yard par 3 that kicked off two trees and rolled in the hole.
No matter what people say, a hole in one is dumb fricking luck. Someone who hits the ball well can put themselves in better position more often but at the end it is just luck if it falls.
