Including an octuple bogey on a par 4

LINK

This is an event that feeds into actual PGA tour qualifying events.

Poor kid is going to have so much pressure in his career if professional golf is the route he’s going. I hope for his sake he was born with tiger’s mental toughness.

PGA Tour Pre-Qualifier round

According to Tiger from not long ago, Charlie has never beaten him. If at no point has he ever played better than his disabled dad, why is he at a PGA Tour pre qualifier? He's not ready yet. Not sure why they are putting this pressure on him to succeed so early.

I think it could be something that shows him just how far away he is, and how much harder he need to work potentially.

But also, I’m sure he had a ton of nerves today. Nerves can make your golf game so much worse.

You don't need to be at PGA Tour level to get through a Pre-Q, even with this being one of the more difficult ones to get through.

I give him credit for finishing, most good players making the turn with a 12 on the card would've been out of there.

I don’t think you realize how many people enter pre-q. It’s literally a fundraiser for the local section. Guys routinely don’t break 100

yeah, i've stated the same.......if you haven't read the book Tiger, its a good read. goes deep into the things his mom did when he walked his highschool matches, things his dad did to him at the range to just always frick with him and push him mentally.

charlie walks with a little bit of swag, and i'm sure tiger has told him to walk the walk........but i don't think tiger is going to dig into him mentally like his dad did to him, and that is what separated Tiger. well, that and his addiction to the range.

I’ve been there before, it’s the 11th shot that gets you.

I would guess most 12s result from multiple penalty shots.

Hook OB. 1
Reload. 2
Hook OB. 3
Reload.4
Inbounds lying 5.
Hook OB. 6
Reload.7
Inbounds in hazard.8
Drop. 9
Pitch on green to 25ft. 10
2 putts is 12

It happens.
