Yeah I don’t really get it. There are so many competitive opportunities for juniors these days. Makes no sense unless Tiger was trying to humble him and let him know how far he is from competing at that level.

Matt kuchar’s son played in the same pre-qualifier. He’s 17 and shot a 77. The only reason you’re hearing about this and shocked that he played is because of who his dad is.

Teenagers play in these all the time. It’s good experience

Maybe elite, older teenagers but not unaccomplished 15 yr olds. Plenty of other tournaments to get experience and build confidence.

He wasn't. Not a slam on the kid. But, outside of Jack and Hogan, no other pro has had Tiger's focus.

I once played in the Webb Championship with split tees and watched a guy start his tournament hooking 3 straight drives off 10 onto Country Club Dr and made an 11 on a 300 yard par 4. Birdied the next hole and went on to card a 82. Most of the time its stubbornness on top of frustration.
