If a massive "you have to experience this game" is not released for VR, it will go the way of the dodo for many generations.

BoTW is not a Top 5 Zelda.

Uncharted sucks and Tomb Raider does it better.

And Dark Souls isn't that hard.

I think the push for a more open, larger world is a complete waste of time.

It hurts far more than it helps and I count the amount of times on a single hand that it's be done well in a video game.

Yep. I have been saying this for years here. Unless it's a shared universe for an online game, I don't need my map to be "2 times bigger than the last boring huge map!!"

Yeah I have mixed feelings about RDR2.

I am on chapter 6, with almost 70% of game completed.

I think initially I loved the game, but it has definitely gotten stale. They really missed the boat with the side mission stuff and open world interacting.

There's just not enough to do other than the main storyline. I don't have a real desire to hunt down a few hundred animal species only to have the skins be worth a few bucks. There's really no rare items in the game. Everything is eventually available one way or another, theres no finding fancy weapons or gear.

Its too much like GTA in terms of it being a non looting game, except there's not TONS of side stuff to do like GTA so it almost seems like a waste of time.

There's no crafting, other than cooking SLOW AS frick food.

My initial rating for the game was probably 9.5/10 but after spending 25+ hours, ive moved it down to a solid 7.5.

edit: Forgot to say, I generally don't enjoy Fortnite unless im playing with some of you knuckleheads. It's just not that fun solo if you don't invest a shitload of time practicing. They could remedy this for us older folks by adding STRICT age filters for random squads, but that would tank the game long term. If Tinder can do it, why can't fortnite?

What's funny is I see validitity in the overwhelming majority of opinions being posted. Gaming culture doesn't really like a diversity of complex opinions on games.

Everything is either 10/10 game of the year or it absolutely sucks.

A lot of games, including RDR2, are just too damn long also. A game like that doesn't need a 60 hour main quest.

Not every game world has to be the biggest world, and not every game needs to have 100 hours of content.

The more I think about God of War, the more I think about what a breath of fresh air it was. A world that wasn't big just for the sake of being big. A main quest that wasn't made artificially long with a bunch of tacked on missions/quests.

The most inventive multiplayer games are found on a board, not on a screen.

As a kid I loved playing Multiplayer games with friends. Playing Halo capture the flag with friends on LAN, smash bros, and mario kart. As I got into college I drifted to MMOs for the multiplayer aspect.

The past two years I've dove into D&D. It's more popular than ever with 5E. I haven't played a game on my computer or console besides NCAA 14 the past 2 years. D&D is definitely worth a look if you like gaming. I didn't have the chance to play it as a kid plus I didn't pursue it because I lived in the country. I couldn't just walk into a gamestore and find people to play with at 12 years old.

Name one genre that isn't the same throughout the body of work.

My entire group of friends is hoping this is what gets everyone back on every night for a year or so.

Not holding my breathe though.

IV was pretty bad by GTA standards. Boring story.

If the characters themselves didn’t become a meme “want to go bowling cousin” it’d be forgotten by now.

I rag on Destiny A LOT, but I think it is very different in terms of FPS games over the last decade.

Yeah GTA IV was so damn tedious - playing almost felt like a chore at time.
