stopped by the Target on my way to work this morning. The office is mostly empty so I made some coffee, shut my door, and am currently downloading the update.
Haven't gone into a brick and mortar to a buy a game on release day since probably back in the 2000s for NCAA football. As I was walking back to electronics there were a couple of folks walking back to the front with plastic bag in hand which I can only imagine were copies of Zelda. A grandma was back there waiting for someone to go to the back and grab a copy so I got mine after her. What a time to be alive.

Ya, I cancelled my pre-order with Wally world because it hadn't even shipped as of last night so I went to the 11pm launch at GameStop. It was PACKED. Felt like I was back in 2010 waiting for NCAA.
although the guy in front of me in line said it was that busy for Hogwarts too so I guess there's still a market for it.
Eta, I've died more already than I'd like to admit. I was even walking through the fog thinking I was heading to something in the distance and walked right of the edge of the island

watching a stream, and this game looks incredible

I am really struggling. I have my switch (in handheld mode) in my office right now but am trying to fight the temptation to fire it up and hold off until I can play on the tv at home later this evening. I don't think I'll make it.

Resist. I’m lucky to be working from home but I have actual work I need to do. I fired it up a minute ago but had to put it down because 20 minutes melted away like it was nothing and I had 3 missed calls
I already told my wife that I’m going to be a zombie after we put our daughter to bed tonight

I played for an hour last night. Also WFH. Been tempted to play some but also have some work that needs to be done. Nothing major but don't want to screw around if I have outstanding task.

I started playing at 11 last night and before I knew it it was 130. Hard to put down. I keep getting distracted and try to build ridiculous methods of transport and just run around looking for who knows what.

Welp just joined the Switch club. Couldn’t resist anymore
Now I’m trying to decide on starting with BotW or just hopping straight into TotK while I wait for BB to get my order ready

It's a really good value. Hell it's six years old and here we are still playing a game like we're 14 again

If you haven't played Botw I would start with that.
Cool thing about the switch is that with one system, you can play the following main Zelda games (if that is important to you):
The Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link
Links Awakening (OG gameboy version and the remake)
A Link to the Past
Minish Cap
Oracle of Seasons and Ages will be available later this year
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Skyward Sword
Botw
TotK
Can't play Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Four Swords/Adventures, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Link Between Worlds.
not sure if I'm missing any....regardless, the point being that the Switch gives you the opportunity to play most of them if you desire.

I love the building/combination mechanic. So much fun.

I've refreshed my amazon account to update me on delivery time about 50 times today.

Ordered it a few weeks back for my son. It will be here Monday. He's super pumped.

Here I am. Home stretch of the work afternoon and I hear TotK calling me. WFH has never been so tempting.

Did WFH today and got down to hyrule proper. Feels like an enhanced version of BotW but I'm getting my arse kicked. I need some damn gear and hearts and stamina

Same here. The enemies are definitely stronger and smarter in combat.
Also, I forgot how great it feels getting dropped in the middle of Hyrule again and not knowing where to go or how to get there. I've been sidetracked at least 10 times already.

I’d be playing this right now if not for this stupid “having to work so I have money to pay my bills” bullshite. I’ll start it up when I get off.
