What difficulty do ya'll play on?
Saw you get better drops at higher difficulty but don't want shite impossibly hard but not afraid of a decent challenge that prevents the game from being SUPER easy.
Started the game on Normal but thinking maybe I should go to hard

I was playing it on normal and found it to be just right. I think the game is more difficult than FO3 or NV. The feral ghouls are just total assholes in this game.

i got fricked up by the glowing one and the 2 legendary feral reavers. took quite a few tries

Damn. Really want to get more into it. Planned on playing yesterday morning. (I work from 7pm to 330 am) but after getting through the intro I literally fell asleep with controller in my hand haha. Hoping to be able to play it some tomorrow

I ran out of a building trying to get away from a mutated feral ghoul and as soon as I stepped forward outside multiple mines blew up blowing my left leg and arm off while throwing my body 100 feet into the air.

So I played for an hour or so last night, and after thinking about what I did for that hour, I probably wasted too much ammo for virtually nothing...what a waste. I just need to go to the Corvega plant.

Did you keep shooting mannequins? I bet you kept shooting mannequins.

I was doing a mission for the brotherhood, was about to kill the last enemy and noticed one of their planes was circling above. They dropped a fricking mini nuke on the last guy...who was standing 5 feet from me.
My body flew higher than the tallest building in the game

I'm guessing the Brotherhood missions go on for as long as you have undiscovered areas. I have a few mission other than them but most of them kick my arse. I guess I just need to randomly explore more or continue with the Brotherhood missions until I level up more, lvl 16 right now.

I haven't had anymore main mission from the mothership, but I've done at least 7 or 8 recon missions from the police station. I think you may be right about that.

Easy money in FO4 (legit too)
1) At your settlements with a lot of water nearybe (Santcuary, Castle)
2) Setup up multiple water treatment / purifiers
3) Power them all
4) Setup your settlement supply lines
5) Sit back and wait a full 24 hours (in game time)
6) Go to your workbench and collect the purified water you now have
I have water for 60 at the Castle. And water for 40 at Sanctuary. So I get around 30-40 bottles of purified water per day.
7) Fast Travel to Diamond City.
8) Sell the purified water for 10+ caps per (depends on your charisma and how many points you've put into the Cap Collector perk).
The best I've done is 12 caps per.
So on average 35 * 12 = 420 caps almost every 24 hours in Fallout 4. Which is about as much as most vendors will carry at my level anyhow. This method will give you a lot of caps consistently with little to no effort. Now with this added income and the Scrounger perk (under Luck). I don't have to worry about running low on ammo on Hard difficulty. And every once and a while I'm able to buy some nice stuff from a vendor at my settlements or in Diamond City.

i really need to start frickin with the settlements. only one ive even tried to develop was sanctuary (because of hte quest) and red rocket.

Castle is the best IMO.
It's huge. Surround by radiated swamp and the sea. And there are huge concrete walls surrounding you, minus 2 holes in the wall. If you block off the hole on the West side of it, then you only have to worry about raiders from one side and you have the high ground of the castle walls. It's damn near impenetrable the way i have it setup now.
for me:
Sanctuary is the bare minimum + plus tons of water
Drive in Theater is a nice settlement of mine. (Centrally located in the map)
Castle is almost maxed out size wise and settlers wise.

Other than the weekends I find when I play at night I game for about two hours and then don't feel like it anymore so I do other things.

I played for 15 minutes last night before pure exhaustion set it. I scrapped a few items. I attempted to assign a settler to a job but couldn't figure it out. I know someone posted it here but was too tired to look it up.

I spent 4 hours last night building a multilevel base on the roof of Red Rocket. I jumped down to see how it was looking from the ground and to screen shot it, game crashes. My last save was in the middle of the wasteland somewhere. I'm not even mad though. I wasn't happy with my front porch or coat closet.
