I love mine craft and building shite but I've been frustrated the frick out of the building system here. Even just building a room is poorly designed. Jmho

I feel more accomplished when I build something cool because the building system is so crude. It feels good Frankensteining a wall together because the prefab walls don't fit right.

yeah, i'm not expecting to build any masterpieces in the post apocalyptic world. but i can certainly understand others' frustrations. it's a learning curve for sure.

without the snapping feature i'm pretty sure i'd never get past building one settlement.

My biggest complaint was not being able to adjust the size of stairs and walls. Yeah, I want a cathedral ceiling, so what go frick yourself. But I think I just read that you can actually do that so now I wait patiently until 5:00.

Then, the frick face nurse trying to deal with him before I got there broke his arm... Its been a tragic arse day

You'd think Bethesda would figure out how to wrap up a story after all these years

I've spent more time on my settlements than I have everything else combined.

So what is the best way to get people into your settlement.

I have 8 people, 14 beds, 25 defense, 11 food....

I have a recruitment beacon, but I have been stuck at 8 forever.

Everything I have read says it just takes time and progression. I had the drive-in up to 12 and a couple super mutants attacked. Killed off 3, although I'm pretty sure one of the deaths was from my friendly fire.

One of my settlements (Croup Manor) jumped from 12 to 24 before I got a chance to disable the recruitment beacon. Like, I traveled there and the map indicated it had 12 settlers, so I get there to build a few beds and the stats say there are 24

Iv been wanting to tinker with building settlements although i have not yet. The UI for crafting does seem to lack some but it works.

I think im going to continue with all other missions and stock piling "junk" supplies in my workbench until im done. Then go back and build up my settlements.

One cheap way of leveling up fast is to scrap all of the trees and other shite in your settlement to get a ton of wood. Once you have plenty of wood go to the builder screen and select painting and build a ton of them on the walls. You get 4 points so it takes a while but it works. You can scrap them afterwards and get some of the wood back.

The fastest way is by laying mats but you have to have plenty of fabric. The good thing about mats vs. paintings is you can stack them on top of each other so technically you can build a million mats and not even have to move around the room so it goes by much faster.

I figured this one out last night.

I have a problem. Out of no where my building controls started to not work, i can move objects left and right but not up and down. Everyone in my settlements is starving and its hard to plant corn when its stuck floating 5 feet in the air. i play on xbox so i dont know if its the system or game. has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?

Hard reboot the system. It happened to me the very first time I tried to place something. Not realizing it was a glitch, I spent forever researching how to unlock the ability to craft

Honestly the game was released rather buggy. If your controls are set right and its not the actual controller then its a bug in the game. Bethesda is usually rather quick to get updates out and patch issues like this as well as taking input from the player community. Try resetting the system hopefully it works.
