Yeah wish it had an unranked mode like Siege.

I've always been absolutely terrible at multiplayer FPS games, despite being decent at gaming in general.

The people who play FPS games competitively take that shite very seriously. I never liked FPS games enough to try hard them.

Just try to play with people who also suck, which is actually most people.

may hit you up, been wanting to get back into overwatch BAD. I was a high diamond player and was never able to quite hit masters, but I did a lot of solo queuing and never really had a good squad to consistently play with. I was a very high level tracer player and could singlehandedly win games with her and genji at Platinum, but it's been probably years since I've played. Had to play more Support towards the end when everyone would load in and pick Attack players smh

Are you on Playstation or Xbox? Im a support main but back when there wasnt the separate role queues I hovered around mid Diamond as a tank/healer flex player. When they introduced the role queue I shot up in support and peaked around 3700. I was never able to get the other roles up there but came within a game on each. My DPS is pretty bad and me slowly losing my ability to aim has definitely contributed to that. Thats why I just ended up being a flex tank/healer, my tank it like 3000 and dps 2900 atm.

For reference on how little I play comp I have been playing OW since day 1 (release not beta), and my profile is a gold border with 5 stars.

I play a pretty good amount of comp and I actually had to make an alt account (well 2) because some of my friends couldnt keep up with those of us who were better. My main is a 5 star gold border and then my alts are both bronze borders. I have been enjoying the hell out of competitive no limits the last few weeks. Its a nice change of pace

i dont even know what role queue is . It's been that long. I think the last season I played in was season 8. Quit once I got big into Fortnite. If it's what it sounds like, that sounds very interesting.

Damn you did take a break, in season 18 they broke competitive up so that you could choose which role you wanted to queue for with each one having its own SR. Season 19 they added Open Queue which was like how comp was the first 3 years of the game where you could choose whichever roll you wanted. Now they have added a rotating competitive arcade mode for each season which helps things not get to stale. I feel like theyve done a (mostly) good job at maintaining a four year old game.

Im on xbox but if youre looking to play hit up my alt account Bastion UGH, most of my friends dont play anymore so I am always down for new teammates.

the games have changed...COD is a great example. totally different market they are catering to. fast paced, close quarters, crazy kill streaks is the current flavor. occasionally i will feel like my old self but its more infrequent year by year. had a 28-4 on cold war the other day 95% sniping and it felt like the old days. even my 12 year old was watching and was like "where are these sniping skills coming from?" all i could do was laugh.

I have come to the realization that I'm just not good at these games and I should avoid them. It hurts me to have to make this confession but it is what it is. I was a beast at Pitfall as a kid but now I'm just a bad gamer. God Bless all of you that continue the fight!!

I'm getting up there in age and dont play as much as I used to but as far as FPS go I've found that actually playing on a smaller screen going from 55"-43", sitting a bit closer and with headphones helps me out a lot with staying competitive online.

There was a time when I was in the top 25 of all Day of Defeat players in the world.

Those days are long gone

I'd love to play online against players of comparable skill level, but it's always either complete newbies or people who play that one game for 12 hours a day every day.

The good thing about Overwatch is there are heroes you can play that don't require good aim. My aim on console is trash, but I can still do pretty well.

It is probably because you don't have time to sit around all day to learn every damn map back to front.

I'm old and I run a company. That shite takes time. But I can break off a few minutes a day to hit the theater for some gaming

This is why I stick with the campaign on shooter games. Back in the day I was pretty descent on Socom, but that was way before I had kids and a full time job. Way more time to play and get better back then.
My son likes to play fortnite and COD online and I know and he knows he can own me on shooters, but in return I can still make him cry with the sticks on Madden or any sports game.

We have definitely played against each other. I'm top 500 on xbox, peaked at around top 50. Hit GM once or twice a while ago. Still play all the damn time

The only 1st person shooter games I ever played often was Call of Duty and Halo. Was absolutely horrible at Call of Duty. I was really good at Halo though. Can't explain why but it is true.
