Historical accuracy seems to only be important if it involves a woman or a black person. It's a pattern.
And it is absolute bullshite.
You just think women and blacks should be excluded from historical accuracy complaints, and we dont.

I'm saying you guys only care about it then.
One of the developers of Tsushima was interviewed recently talking about historical accuracy with their game, basically saying it wasn't really accurate at all. They referenced events and people, but it was mostly fictionalized. The Japanese market didn't care at all, as long as they were respectful of the culture.
The idea of Yasuke, a black samurai, has been around a while, in a lot of media, but no one cared. He shows up in a AAA game, and all of the sudden we have this influx of Japanese history experts who are deeply offended on behalf of the Japanese people.

This is a good point for the assassin's creed game but doesn't really have much to do with what is going on with dragon age because this game has no basis in the real world.
People don't care until they can score political points off it, because they have had their minds taken over by idealogies.
Politics have infected the consumers as much as it has the creators.
The whole culture war is just 2 warring cults that are being played like fiddles.
I won't be buying dragon age, but it has nothing to do with gay characters or pronouns or whatever else.
If you think you will enjoy the game (and finish it) then you should buy it.
The stream I watched the combat looked too MMO-like for my tastes.

I need to play more to see if it (hopefully) opens up. I've played for about 3 hours, and it has been teleport to home base, talk to your party, teleport to some other area, walk down a hallway, come to a circular area, fight mobs, walk down another hallway, come to another circular area, fight more mobs, come to another circular area with a chest in the middle that is impossible to miss, loot new armor and/or weapon, walk down another hallway, fight more mobs, fight boss, teleport back to base.
Not sure if maybe this design is just a hold over from when this game was going to be a live service or if this is just another instance of developers dumbing down every genre into third person action game.
I think you can have a happy medium between linear and open world. Open-area games like KOTOR, Fable, and Deus Ex seem to be a lost art these days. Everything is a massive open world map or a linear hallway with no in between.
The combat is really basic. It feels like a mobile version of God of War (2018). I think one of the main reasons people spend so much time playing these Dragon Age games is to try out new character classes/builds. I just don't see this game having the same legs with this kind of combat system.
Graphics-wise, this is not a game for people who like nice, crisp visuals. Outside of hair, I'm not sure that this game really looks better than Inquisition. Too much bloom lighting. Everything looks blown out and fuzzy.

I wore myself out trying to beat you over the head with why people were upset in the other thread, and you still don’t fricking get it. You must be retarded

I think Jedi Survivor did a pretty good job of this. Fallen order maps were way too linear

Yeah but outside of that one planet with the pub and shite, there's basically no interactivity with the world other than killing shite and finding collectibles
In the 3 examples he gave, there is plenty of exploring, discovery, conversations, secrets, interactivity, etc. Deus Ex is one of the finest examples IMO. In those city blocks in Mankind Divided, you can basically go into every building interior and explore. Very dense

To me, those gameworlds are more akin to Metroidvanias

Ah, I see. Yeah that's tough to find. Metaphor has some of those things but not a whole lot of secrets to find.

I know. I was just addressing someone dragging up the old BF V discussion.

Because I explained to you none of your shite actually holds water when you look at the AC series as a whole. But we can agree to disagree and drop it.

Fellas, is it gay to kiss a woman?
Posted on 11/1/24 at 2:54 pm to sicboy
You didn’t explain anything especially when looking at the series as a whole

You can type as much as you want but your tone deaf argument misses the point
Games are supposed to be fun and an escape from the reality of life
We deal with the harsh realities of life (women and diversity) so that we can get money to buy games and escape to our game world
Don’t ruin our game world with the harsh realities of life
ETA: I meant not hot women
It’s ok if hot women are in games

How often you dealing with diversity in life? Haha
You consider dealing with women in life a bad thing?
Now when they put grindy shite in video games that make it feel like a job, that's where I draw the line

I put an ETA: down there that explains it a little better
Just imagine how triggering it could be to be say a public high school teacher and you save your money to transport yourself into the whimsical land of Japan 500 years ago in a game and then you find out that it’s not historically accurate

Yeah, I get pissed off every time I play age of empires 2 and people build fire ships with a civilization that isn't Greece.
Also they don't allow Chinese to research gunpowder.
Also, I'm joking, none of that shite bothers me at all, it's a video game, it's meant to be art.
I would struggle more with playing an assassin's creed game (I find them incredibly reptitive) than I would with them having a black samurai. It's a video game. I experience the game through the characters/games eyes. It's someone else's story to tell, not mine.

When true gamers like myself complain about things being not historically accurate what we mean is “woke”
Age of empires 2 is historically accurate because it’s from like 2003 before woke existed
