When true gamers like myself complain about things being not historically accurate what we mean is “woke”
Age of empires 2 is historically accurate because it’s from like 2003 before woke existed
Yeah I see that the woke wars have ruined many people's ability to enjoy games, movies, and TV shows.
It's a shame that not only did they ruin stuff like She-Hulk for some people, they also corrupted their minds so that they no longer enjoy things or have an imagination if they see anything that their leaders would consider "woke"
I have to say I don't think I would ever allow anyone else to have that kinda power over me.
The litmus test for me was the last of us 2. I thought I'd hate it after the spoilers, but when I sat down and played it I loved the game. None of the creators decision felt wrong to me, because I was playing their story.
From then on I decided that if I think I will like a game (or show) , I won't let anyone else tell me not to try it.

I love Dragon Age and couldn't care less about the woke war with this game - although I would prefer the pronoun thing to disappear forever.
However, I've been watching CohhCarnage play and this just doesn't seem like a good game. The dialogue is horrible and your companions have no health and don't draw aggro.
The story seems okay and your character skill tree seems expansive but this is looking like a pass for me.

For every million dollars they spend adding a trans character they could’ve spent on adding cooler guns or something

Yeah it looks too cookie-cutter to me. I never made it very far in inquisition so this would've had to look amazing for me to consider buying it. It just looks like a much shittier Baldurs Gate 3.
I'll have to find something else to hold me over after I finish Metaphor until kingdom come deliverance 2 in February

Yeah those surgeries aren't cheap

Someone reuploaded the video from the link a couple pages again. In case you missed it:

Is this really in the game

so the one chick wanted to play make believe "i'm non-binary"
other character didn't agree with that and left. I could see that happening in the real world.

Can you imagine telling a BioWare fan playing Dragon Age Origins in 2009 what a clusterf#*% the franchise would be now?

Who was trans in that video?

excuse me, Sammy is our resident LBTQXYZ+ ally and expert.

Or just telling a BioWare fan then what the studio would be producing now. It would be inconceivable.

quote:You are wrong. Highly visible inaccuracies get ridiculed faster, because they are easiest to spot.
I'm saying you guys only care about it then.
Look at Amazon's "Wheel of Time". Sure there were a handful of woke complaints, but 99% of the vitriol was because of story, world, and character changes.
quote:And yet far more accurate than what we saw in the trailer for Shadows, man
One of the developers of Tsushima was interviewed recently talking about historical accuracy with their game, basically saying it wasn't really accurate at all. They referenced events and people, but it was mostly fictionalized. The Japanese market didn't care at all, as long as they were respectful of the culture.
quote:because it was all highly fictionalized and not very popular
The idea of Yasuke, a black samurai, has been around a while, in a lot of media, but no one cared.
When you put it in an AC game that generally has historical characters. . .and you have never made the PC a historical figure, but this is the route you take. . .
. . .I mean it isn't comparable
quote:First off. . .this is ironic coming from a progressive.
we have this influx of Japanese history experts who are deeply offended on behalf of the Japanese people.
Secondly, there was some of that, and also a HUGE amount coming from Japan. It was the Japanese who outed the fake historian and tried to bring this to Assembly

You notice how I said sicboy was "progressive dog whistling" and in comes the 2 gay ultra-progressives, Sammy and Something420
Almost seems like it is exactly what I said it was

yeah so strange that I joined a thread about a video game on the day it was released.
you've smoked enough pole for all 3 of us.

I mean, you are a gay ultra-progressive dude(?). I didn't mean it as an insult, just a descriptive label. Not sure why you are getting hostile.

I'm married with a kid. You see anyone that isn't homophobic as gay?
I promise dude they aren't gonna give you the gay by being near you unless you already have it. I have a gay family member.
It's the folks like you that are so afraid of it and preach about it that always end up with some gay skeletons in their closet
Im not a progressive either, I'm a libertarian. But you already knew that. You just can't stand being disagreed with so you lump everyone that has opposing discourse in as a gay ultra-progressive. A good example of where we are as a country these days. Noone is willing to have open discourse, they shell up and tune out or outright reject any opposing views.
Maybe one day youll open your eyes
