I hope you remember to bring your bottle of A1 with you when you go to a steak place to go with your dry, over-cooked steak. Not all of them have it.
Way to be a judgmental prick about it.

You like what you like, and don't let someone else tell you what you like.
I do prefer my steaks anywhere between Rare + and Med Rare, but other people enjoy their's different.

I understand why people like to use this way of thinking. However, I find it short-sighted, stubborn, and frankly ignorant.
I am not the type to be rude or say anything to you, but know that I am judging the shite out of your poor taste in food and your unwillingness to broaden your horizons.

How do you like your steak?
Medium rare.
Huh. An aristocrat.

Same could be said about you by the person ordering the medium-well steak.

At least you don't get it well done. My dad orders every steak well done and every steak he makes is well done. Damn near burnt. I thought steak was gross and tasted like a flavorless work boot until I was 16 or so. Once I had steak medium-rare I never went back.
Word. Growing up, my mom cooked all our steaks well done. She was afraid of bacteria or something. I just thought the whole time that's how everybody ate steak. Then, one time, by accident I had one at a restaurant medium. That was miles better. Then I stepped to medium rare, and it was perfect for me. I'm against snobbery, but sometimes it's good I guess

If he has tried it the proper way, and been open minded then kudos.
Either way he is still wrong about the medium well steak.

I'd be willing to bet that most people who eat their steak rare/med rare have eaten a med well/well done steak and that is why they prefer rare/med rare. While, those who prefer a well done steak are afraid of the "blood" and think it's gross that rare/med rare steaks "bleed" on the plate. The broadening their horizons comment doesn't really apply to those who eat rare/med rare steaks.

The funny thing is, it's not even blood.
If people like to eat their steak medium well, to each their own. Those who say they order it this way because they don't want no blood, then I view them as misinformed idiots.

Hmmm, I've never heard of "Blue Rare". That seems way extreme to me. Do many people order that?
I always like medium the best, but I think I'll go mid-rare next time.

It can be tough, because i definitely don't like straight up rare (the texture is just too...I dunno.chewy, I guess), but ordering medium can result in a dry steak. I find it a 50/50 shot ordering med-rare, because any good cook will err on the side of undercooking it, so that if need be they can throw it back in the broiler/on the grill. If they overcook it, it's going in the trash, and your meal is probably getting comped or discounted.

Doesn't mean I'll be rude or get angry or berate the person, but I'll silently think to myself "ugh what a waste" and go about my dinner.
This especially at a nice steak house or at someone's house with a good cut of meat. Go hit up Logan's with that well done mess.
