Who makes the best cheesesteak in Baton Rouge?

Since South of Philly on Sherwood closed, I have struggled to find a good cheesesteak without driving to Ascension Parish. Who has the best one in EBR? I've tried Philly Me Up, and if that's the best we've got, then we're in a sad state of affairs.

What did you dislike about Philly Me Up? I think theirs are outstanding.

To me, their steak just tastes like ground beef and their bread isn’t very good. Their fries aren’t good either. I’m always disappointed when I order food from there.
Their’s isn’t bad. In fact, their big kahuna chicken is really solid. Arguably the best chicken Philly in town alongside Goodwood Grill.
I’ve had theirs and it’s pretty good, but not as good as their burgers or eggrolls.
I’ll have to give Simple Joe’s a shot.

Someone in another thread the other day posted Wings and Sides on Essen is supposed to be good. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet myself though.
Tried it tonight. Added grilled shrimp. It was very good, would order again.

As an expert on the subject Philly Me Up is not a bad option now that Jim's on South Street burned down.
I do like South of Philly better...but not drive to Prairieville better.

South of Philly was good.
There is some new cheesesteak place on S Acadian called Great Steaks or something like that. Right at Broussard. Might be a chain but I'll try it next week and report back.

I get tenders for my kids from there once a week at least. They are huge and really good. I got the cheese steak once and it was excellent. Can’t think of one better in Baton Rouge. Place won’t be open long. I’m always the only one in there when I pick up food.

To each his own, but they chop ribeye in front of your face, get bread shipped in from Amoroso’s bakery in Philly, and although frozen, only serve their fries piping hot straight from the fryer. I love that place, me.

Go to the truck stop on Hwy 30 in St Gabriel and get one from the restaurant there, Cast Iron Cafe is the name of the restaurant
