The bar in white star had killer happy hour deals. I wonder what they building could even be turned into?

I found white star to be kinda meh at brunch the one time we went.

Went to red stick social, sat in restaurant, and no one took our order while the hostess stand (2 people) and the bar staff (4 people) looked on and a couple waitresses came in and out of kitchen. No one checked on the 3 seated tables. We left and won't be back.

If the owner is booting them you’d think he had something lined up.

I found parking to be a problem and the food was too hit and miss....I'm sure the rent was pricey also...

The article was a bit confusing.

White Star asks for 6 months no rent.
Owner says no to the full 6 months, but will work with them on a month to month basis.
White Star decides to leave entirely due to this.

If that is how it actually went down, the owner may not have thought they'd up and leave? If truly willing to work with them each month as things develop, that seems reasonable to me. Wonder if White Star was somewhat looking for a way out..

I read article. Owner does not say they would give them free/reduced/abated rent at all. Just a “let’s see month to month” which comes off as very non committal.

Looks like they were each seeing if the other was bluffing.

Landlord probably lost this one.

If you consider not giving your tenant six months free rent losing then he lost. If my options are give you free rent with no guarantee you are staying at the end of six months or looking for a rent paying tenant immediately...

I am going to have to start looking for someone that can pay.

Who in the world is going to be leasing a space that big any time soon?

Or maybe this is all part of the most elaborate April Fools joke ever

Maybe Dave & Busters is going to come in, appeasing the anti-RSS crowd.

Maybe a Flea Market?

This will be blamed on the Wuhan Virus, but in reality this was coming long before the quarantine.

This is what I’m getting at.

If WSM had opened up on Goodwood/E.Airport, closer to the DMV, Main Library, State Police HQ, BRPD HQ, still plenty of MDs, DDS, credit unions, along with adjoining neighborhoods of Old Goodwood, Tara & Broadmoor in an area with little competition (Goodwood Grill) instead of the crowded Mid City area,

Getting the traffic from Independence Park alone could be worth it.

With the right vendors of course.

I’m worried about red stick social as well.

Such a large venue, hope my feeling is wrong.

I don't expect them to last. Last time I went, there were maybe 10 people at 11PM on a Saturday.
