Pleasant surprise this morning. I really didn't think I was going to get one this year. Going to do a side by side with Act 8 this evening.

Went to Lexington last weekend for my bachelor party and hit up makers mark, Heaven hill, Buffalo Trace, four roses, and Woodford
Biggest takeaways:
1) makers mark private selection is amazing. They really do have such a great thing going on over there.
2) peerless double oaked was the biggest surprise of the weekend. Need to try more of their stuff in general.
3) anything besides Weller FP and 12 are overrated.
4) Russel reserve 10 and 13 will have permanent spots on my shelf so long as I can find them.

1PD was MWND act 9 that I FINALLY got. 2PD was four roses maisanos pick. No pics because I was at a friends house and didn’t snap any.

I got the MWND as part of my weekly trip to Houma. I'd imagine Nola will be getting them soon, if not already.
The neck pour of 9 was actually better than 8. Cherries and a stronger influence of the port finish in general.

Oakier than expected, but that's not a bad thing. It adds good balance with the port. You can tell it's on the younger side, but it's a favorable initial impression. I'm looking forward to seeing how it opens up.
