What's a good whiskey that you can pick up in most liquor stores? Say under a buck 50?

I would start here if you are new to bourbons, let us know what you think and we can point you in the right direction, depending on how much you like this bottle. Start off with a little ice

I’d go Four Roses single barrel for some delicious juice under $50

I have 7 of the 8. A friend of mine has #8 (Baratheon) for me, but lives in Texas. Will be a few months before I can get it.

Can't go wrong with Old Grandad 114 for under $30.
Drinks way better than that imo.
Hell, the normal Old Grandad Bottled in Bond is fantastic for $20-$25

In Gatlinburg for a couple days after Christmas and had to get the tourist trap bourbon.

It's not that bad.

I'm a big fan of Redbreast 12 Cask Strength (Irish Whiskey), which goes for ~$80-85.

Speaking of that, I made my first bourbon lamp. I used Dram as a test before I tore up a Pappy bottle.

I didn’t realize the Dram bottle’s bottom is over 1/2” thick. Took me forever to drill it.
