That 85$ pricing was insane. I don’t get how people would even justify paying for it at that price. I’m gonna open it up Friday, looking forward to it.

It's great stuff. This particular barrel pick is outstanding. Personally I am a big fan of Pinhook both what they are doing bourbon wise as well as marketing. My favorite release was their "Bourbon N Rye" from 2018, which is still on some shelves. I think it was around $35? Can't recall. This particular bottle is $60 if I remember correctly, and it's worth every penny.
As far as their marketing strategy goes, they are trying to change the way bourbon is sold. It's owned by wine sommeliers, and they recognize that each year's release is unique based on barrels and such. Instead of just releasing under the same branding every year they are pushing for expressions instead. The idea is that as the flavor profile changes it will have it's own brand. That Bourbon N Rye for instance is now "Rye'd On." Even though it's the same mashbill, it has it's own unique flavor profile. They use a coloring system for the wax dips to designate that it's the same mashbill.
Also what's cool is that their names for releases are all based on race horses.
