Found this at Rouses on David Dr. today. Was almost out of my previous one. It’s a favorite of mine.

I haven’t tried any of the Turkey outside of Russels, which I like a lot. I want to try the rare breed and this rye. It’s on my list.

Wild turkey 101 is a great whiskey for the price. I buy it by the handle. It's my mixer and sometime sipper. It is severely underrated and very cheap.

Made a stop at Rouses (Epicurean/Thibodaux) after work today. Barrel selects for the BT and saz. Been eyeing russels and the high west was on sale for a few bucks off.

Wild Turkey 101 is very underrated, holds up really well. Wild Turkey 101 Rye is my go to for Old Fashioneds as well.

Are you the fella that's been asking about 107 for weeks now? I've got a feeling that nycauburn is in the christmas spirit after getting 37 bottles, and is going to hook you up. if not, it's not much but I will send you a sample of the elios's store pick I have.

Big Ern, it is me lol. I've been hunting for a bit yea. NYCAuburn did post a website he uses to see where its in stock up in Ohio so I'm going to send that to my friend today and see if they can score some.
While I certainly would love that and would not turn it down, I also don't want to take up any of yours if you are on limited supply!

dustyafontenot@yahoo.com if you want to chat anymore about it buddy.

NP, Just because it shows something on there, doesnt mean they still have it. They could have sold out that day or the prior. However it does let you know who is getting it. From there, if not in stock, figure out when delivery day is. try not to go to high trafficked stores. The grocery store liquor stores are the best though. if they cant find it, within two weeks. they are not really trying. Once they figure out delivery day, it should be an endless supply for you.

Most stores I have been in Ohio, tell me their delivery day, but usually only in person. Good luck

Here is today’s map

ETA, I believe it is also allocated lottery bottle release day in Ohio today. All the folks who won their recent lottery and didnt pick up. The stores now put them on shelf for general sale

E.H. Taylor Amaranth, $69.99
Elmer T. Lee 100th Tribute Edition, $100.00
E.H. Taylor Jr. 18 Year Marriage, $ 69.99
Old Fitzgerald 9 year, $89.98
Old Fitzgerald 15 Year, $149.98
Rockhill Farms, $54.99
Mister Sam, $249.98
King of Kentucky, $249.99
Old Forester Birthday, $99.99
Double Eagle Very Rare, $2,000
Old Fashioned Copper (O.F.C.), $2,400.98
Woodford Reserve Baccarat, $2,127.65

Barrel pick question:

Who do you trust for picking out barrels? I live Northshore, and there are Russels picks at Acquistipace, Total Wine and Saias. Is this one of those can't go wrong scenerios by purchasing at any of those (I won't buy TW, because I want to support my local stores), or is it wiser to trust one more than the others? I've been wanting to grab one of those Russel picks, but at $60 I only plan to buy one. I'm curious how you all decide whom to trust if that does indeed matter.

some places even just let the distilleries pick.

Its really a personal preference. Some stores have someone with a similar palate to your own, some the opposite. Trial by fire. If a local owned store is getting a lot of barrel picks, they are usually a go to spot, because that usually means they are selling a lot, which means a lot of people like their palate.

If Jeff from Metairie Martin’s is involved in a barrel pick....buy it. Dude has a great palate for bourbon.
