re: Which chicken do y’all Louisianans claim as the best? Canes or Popeyes?

Friend,
I have tried Cane’s twice. Both times I received among the worst fried chicken I have ever eaten. Popeyes, on the other hand, is a true taste of New Orleans fried food. Even as it has expanded the fried chicken is among the best in the world, and that includes from restaurants. The red beans are top notch. When biscuits were made in-house, Popeyes announced to the world that biscuits are indeed worth eating. Although Katrina probably had nothing to do with Popeyes switching to the premade frozen biscuits, which are worthy of place in the trash, not your stomach, we still blame the hurricane because it was only after 2005 that we noticed the biscuits being terrible. We also love visiting our Popeyes and have nothing but great things to say about the service there.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Podnuh,
They are blue runner with liquid smoke over parboiled rice, served at an inverse ratio of beans to rice, that is the floor drain of what is acceptable in a to purchase red bean meal.

P.S. Comparing chicken on the bone to tenders is asinine, I haven't found a mass produced fried chicken thigh that can compete with average Popeyes, and Popeyes tenders are better than Canes.

Popeyes is horrible. Their tenders are thin, chalky, dry AF and over-battered. The biscuits are also dry and completely inedible. The only thing worse than the food at Popeyes is the ‘customer service’ by their employees, who have to be the biggest group of lazy morons in the entire fast food industry. Canes has amazing service and their tenders are far superior to Popeyes. It’s no contest, honestly.

Unless you are a child or a fricking moron (which you are for posing this question) who eats chicken tendies, there is no comparison.

I like my chicken on a bon, so easily Popeyes..
Tenders from Cane's is better than Popeyes tenders. I've only gotten the Popeyes a couple times to try.

i need someone acting like me ordering spicy dark meat is ruining their day

Canes or Popeyes?
Neither
Southern Classic is the answer

I used to love Popeyes. I never go there anymore.
I get my fried chicken from a Krispy Krunchy or Robert's Grocery when it's fresh.
For tenders, I do Canes. I

Southern Classic. RIP Popeyes. Cane's is not in the same category of food. Those are chicken fingers.

Krispy Krunchy FTW.
A well run Krispy Krunch is a better product than even a well run Popeyes imo.

Popeyes. When you have to have the sauce, it's not the chicken that is so great

that shite is nasty, most random gas stations have better chicken.

Canes’ chicken is horrible. Seemingly intentionally bland, soft breading.
Like someone else said, if it has to have sauce to be enticing, the chicken isn’t good

Your opinion is objectively wrong.

For that matter, Southern Classic also has chicken tenders that are better than Cane's.

Best thing at Mamas are the biscuits
Ask them for a couple packs of honey to put on that biscuit.
You can thank me later!
And their Fried Chicken is mediocre at best.

If you compare Popeyes at its best to Canes at its best…no contest. Popeyes by a LOT.
But Canes is consistent. One may say consistently boring and somewhat bland, but it will usually be all right. Whereas bad Popeyes is turrible.
I do prefer Canes fries, though undistinguished.

Popeyes is too greasy for me so it's a once a year for me.
Canes is good but if I go I tend to go more and more so I just skip it.
If I'm getting fast food fried chicken it's Chick-fil-A cause I know what I'm getting and it wont take long to get it plus they have the best fries and lemonade and it's not super greasy. I believe it's fried in peanut oil if that helps any.
