Didn't think shoppers choice sold BGE...
They do, may not be in their website but they have them in the store. I don't think they had KJ on their website but I bought mine there.

Fairly sure Goodwood only sells BGE and Shoppers Choice doesnt sell BGE. I thought they had them for comparison not purchase.
ETA:
Nope looks like SC just cant sell BGE online:

The Big Green Egg used to be available for retail on our site for several years until it was pulled from online sales, and then Big Green Egg implemented a policy that voids the manufacturers warranty if the unit is purchased online.

I think that's about to stop soon. My family owns a store that is an authorized dealer, we were warned to be on the look out for anyone buying 5+ eggs because it is Sam's and they are trying to undercut small retailers like us who have to sell at a certain price as mandated by BGE. Pretty sure BGE is going to try to put an end to it though...or like I said, just tell people not to sell a bunch to one person maybe.
What? Are you saying Sams is going around to mom and pop bbq stores, paying premium prices for the BGEs, and then selling them for cheaper than what they paid for them?
To top it off, you're not going to sell 5 or more to somebody even though you mske your money regardless? Sounds like a win-win to me.

Someone explain to me how Sams would possibly buy 5+ BGEs from places that "have to sell at a certain price" and still "undercut" them.

My buddy made a couple of bulk egg purchases a number of years ago (think 18 wheeler loads) and a bunch of them ended up on ebay at the time and the retailer in Mobile went crazy. That was the end of that...

There are 3 authorized dealers in BR. SC isn't one of them.

What kind of stupid bullshite is this? Your family was "warned"?
Sam's gets them straight from BGE.
Either your story is completely made up, or someone in your family is gullible as hell.

Then why is BGE's advice "don't buy an egg from sam's"?

Is this what you are referring to?
quote:
Big Green Egg does not distribute its products through discount clubs or discount chain stores, or through internet or e-commerce sites, and any such entity offering Big Green Eggs is an unauthorized reseller any may have obtained the merchandise through fraudulent or other improper means. Like many other companies, BGE does not extend warranty coverage to products purchased from unauthorized resellers or resold by private parties, and consumers are advised to check the Dealer Locator to verify the legitimacy of any reseller before making a purchase.

Companies try their best to "stand up" for their retailers whenever they can. That's where they make most of their money....the "authorized dealers"
Go ask any Goodyear Tire retailer why Sam's sells the identical tires for so much less.... See what response you get.

I've read stories on BGE forums about folks having difficulty with warranty issues when the purchase wasn't from an authorized retailer.

I thought the BGE was a solid product though? IF its so great then what type of problem are all these people having? I have had Weber products for years that are sold by big companies and I have never had to contact them once. people that do claim they have exceptional customer service too. So bottom line.. Why in the hell would I want to buy a BGE when there are other products that simular and of same quality from a company that isnt going to act like jackasses when I buy online or from someone they are not friends with?

"You ned the extended warranty"
"Why?"
"In case it breaks."
"If it's going to break, I don't want it."
"It's not going to break."
"Then why do I need the ext. warranty?"
"In case it ....

frick BGE.
Why would I ever want to do business with a company that chooses to penalize its consumer for not running to its website and looking up an authorized dealer list.
Sams and Shoppers Choice are legit businesses. Its not like you did some sort of back alley deal where the product could be damaged or handled improperly which would affect the product.
Like I said Weber is pretty much the pennacle of customer support in that area of goods and you dont see BS like that. Makes me question how BGE would respond even if I did buy from one of their backroom buddies.
