I would lean to I&E over operations if he’s young. Most things are becoming more automated and operator roles are starting to change. Ops is good money, but it surely isn’t totally future proof. Someone needs to troubleshoot and calibrate all these instruments. ...

Biggest question is what will she be shooting….portraits, landscapes, sports, kids…don’t over spend if she’s not experienced with a dslr. Same here with some Nicholls tickets. Very pushy, e-mail and PayPal email addresses different, doesn’t want any phone calls because of the “nature of their job”. Won’t allow for in-person pickup. ...

Completely switched careers after 25 years with one company. Went back to school at age 41, graduated at 43, started in an entirely different field. Tripled my pay. Only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. ...
