What’s best pellet grill?

Looking to get my first pellet grill. What’s y’all opinion on best brands?

Recteq would be my number 1. If i was on a budget, i would just pick the size that fits my budget. I dont own a pellet grill but know alot of people with them, and they have nothing but good things to say about recteq. Green Mountain is also pretty good. Ive heard of a few problems with pitboss(usually thermometer) and traeger(auger motor), but they also can hold their own.

I really love my Recteq... I've had the 590 for a little over a year. Got the Bullseye about 4 months ago for more grilling

Pitts & Spitts or Yoder if you want to spend the money for the best. If you don't want to spend that much the Rectec is the next notch down but still very solid.

MAK grills are probably up there on the best list.

You start getting to the best brands at $1600+ (Yoder, Pitts & Spitts, MAK)
RecTec generally gets the highest praise around $1k. Everyone I know that has a Camp Chef really likes theirs as well.
Traeger used to have an issue with breakdowns but they are putting out a lot of new models and I wonder if they have upgraded quality?

Overall, Camp Chef. It's great and not that expensive.

I have both a ReqTec 700 and a Camp Chef Woodwind 36.
From a performance perspective they are equals, build quality - equals. I find the Campchef has some nice creature comforts, such as the ash clean out, that the RecTec lacks, but they are both at the top of their shared market segment.
If you want something better than those two, look at Yoder. It'll cost you an extra half a paycheck though.

I'm not sure. I didn't know if I wanted a pellet grill or not so I went to Lowes and picked up a Pitboss 820 for $300. It was reduced far enough that I felt like even if I didn't like it, I could sell it for $250 and not lose that much.
Turns out I like having the pellet grill. Have had the pitboss now for 3 years and it's going strong. It has plenty of hot and cold spots and isn't the best. But it's fine for what I'm doing. I cook everything on it and the family prefers the flavor compared to a weber kettle. I did a big blind taste test with the family and pitboss won every time.
I don't even use 'premium' pellets. I get the 40lb competition pellets at Lowes and they're just fine. That's not to say it's better than anything. It just means that I'm not convinced there is enough reason to buy anything until the pitboss bites the dust. Not sure which year that will be though.

I have a Traeger Ironwood 885. So far so good. No crazy temp swings and zero issues. Wanted to go with a Rectec, but at the time they were out of stock on the larger cooker and I didn't want to wait.

For the "Best" I have a Pitts and Spitts 850. Made locally in Houston and great customer service. I focused on something made in the USA so my choices were Pitts and Spitts, MAK, and Yoder. I'm sure there are some others made in US but that's what I was looking for.

How is the bullseye for smoking? Or is it better as a grill in addition to one of their smokers?

If you're looking to do a single brisket or a couple pork butts at a time, perfectly fine.
Smoking is all I use mine for.
