I was raised pretty damn poor, and even though I earn a nice living by my standards, I’m still probably right in the meat of the middle class. Including drinks, entrees, a shared dessert, and an app or two, I’d consider $250 plus tax and tip a “lavish” meal for my wife and I.

I don't like breaking $100 for 2.... Food is expensive but not that expensive. You start paying for experience at some point and I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.
I can't drink and my wife is a light drinker, 1-2 drinks tops if we go out so that helps. I could see alcohol driving up the price.

My wife and I typically spend around $180-$200 when we go out to eat. Anything over $300 would be “lavish”.
The most expensive meal I’ve had was at Stella. Group of 6. Total bill was $1200. It was worth it (the experience, ambience, food, company).

I usually try to keep our dinners reigned in because we eat out often. But a special occasion probably doesn't become lavish until it is over $200/person without drinks (as someone who just spent $50/person for brunch and $150/ticket for a ball game). I am now officially changing my stance on how much I will spend on dinner

I don't have much experience with fine dining. I've been to Mastros a few times SW in Vegas but those are just steak houses.
The only thing that qualifies is I took my friend, his wife and our 2 daughters to Napa Rose at the Grand Californian at Disneyland. I was all fricked up on pain pills and drinking heavily. The bill was $700. I charged it to my room which my step father was paying for. He never did say anything to me. What a piece of shite I used to be.

I spent $385 (incl. tip) for one meal for myself in Vegas.
It included wagyu steak, a whistle pig 18 yr. Old fashioned, and a bottle of wine.
Don’t regret it, but not sure I want to do that again, unless it’s a Michelin restaurant.
ETA: as far as concert tickets go, I spent $75 in 1997 (Prince)
Broke $100/ea. in 2005 (Celine Dion in LV with GF)
Broke $150 in 2014 (The Eagles)
Broke $200 in 2015 (Adele)
Broke $400 in April 2022 (Lady Gaga in Las Vegas)

Probably Miss River at the Four Seasons.
There are plenty of places though where you can run up a big bill pretty easily such as Restaurant August

HOWEVER, my dude would never tell me what I can or can't eat or drink, especially if we're planning a nice night out. We go out specifically to treat ourselves. If an extra glass of wine will break the bank then we should probably just stay at home.
I also would just order however many glasses of wine I want because I also have a bank account.
