Nice smoke ring, but you may have kept on a few degrees too long

I did. I put it on 9pm last night and cooked using the wi fi during the night and while in church. I normally pay more attention to it. Still ate good

I have an 18" WSM. I have nothing to compare it to but know that I can turn out some amazing Q using it. It takes some effort to keep temp for overnight cooks (a bit leaky these days, as old as it is), but I don't mind a bit of interaction with the smoker. I don't get into all the probes, wifi, bluetooth, etc....smoking meat, to me, is supposed to be a bit of a primal experience, not relying on high tech cheats.

I'm possibly going to pull the trigger on bringing a bull into our home tomorrow.

A Rec Tec bull.

I've used this for the past 15 years. Holds temp well and creates a great product. Also its fun to use and drink by while you "work" on dinner for the family all day.

Kamado Joe Classic II

My old cheap electric smoker was dying, and my 10 year old weber charcoal grill was falling apart, so i wanted a one stop system and i had some bonus money, so i went with the Kamado Joe.

It is, by far, one of the best investments i've ever made. I can grill to perfection, or do a low and slow smoke for 12+ hours without ever having to add fuel or lift the grill. The amount of things you can do on that thing is pretty incredible.

You'd rather have a Kamodo Joe II over a Rec Tec Bull for the same price?

Some people take a little more pride working the fire rather than an overpriced Ronco smoker

Respect - I've done that for the past year tho. It's too hectic I dont like being a slave to the grill for 6 hours

Stick burner for everything but poultry. That goes on my water smoker.

I currently smoke on a Weber kettle with a slow n’ sear. Once my wife and I buy a house, I want to get a WSM or pick up an Oklahoma Joe Bronco. I’ve been reading good reviews of the Bronco online. I’d also prefer it because it doubles as a grill and has plenty of smoking capacity, unlike my current setup.

Which is funny since good pellet grills outperform ceramics when it comes to blind taste tests. Ceramics are mediocre smokers and don’t really require much working a fire. They are the Yeti stickers of the smoking world. If you are going to play that card, at least do it with a stick burner which is better than a pellet.

Preach.

Plus, the ceramics are dogshit for doing an inside smoke.... Major fire and smoke hazard.

I have been cooking on my Memphis Pellet Grill for the past 5 yrs.

I will never cook on anything again.

Its just to easy. We rarely use the oven anymore.

You could smoke, sear, hell even bake on it.

Temp goes from 180 to 650.

After seeing mine, I have had 4 different buddies purchase one with no complaints.

So how does it automatically regulate the smoker temps?
