What restaurant near you has done better food since the quarantine started?

I think Lula in New Orleans has knocked it out the park since lock down started. I frequent the restaurant a lot due to the location but the menu and food have never impressed. I have had six or seven family style meals there since this madness has started and am blown away. Amazing how different the food that they are serving is from their normal menu and how delicious it has been. Anyone have any similar experiences at a local restaurant?
I’m new here but have been searching this board for years: Just my two cents.

I’m a Blue Oak homer that borders on t00f levels, but their specials throughout all of this have consistently been better than normal. The fried ribs they had the other day made me question if life was still worth living. Once you’ve peaked it’s all downhill, right?

Blue Oak and Junior’s on Harrison have both been doing quite well through all this.

I’ve enjoyed the Chinese food on Friday’s from Juniors. I had not dined there pre covid19.

Blue Oak has done a great job.
Lola's on Esplanade did some of the best takeout I've had. From the containers they packaged it in to the system, very good.

Please tell me more about these fried ribs.
Were they smoked and then fried?
Were they single ribs, or a couple of bones?
I want to try this!

Always a line of people waiting to order. I picked up a margarita while walking my dog the other day that was strong AF, pleasantly surprised.

Haven't been to Junior's yet, but they have also been killing it at their Overpass Merchant store with the specials they run each day. They didn't let the pandemic limit their offerings at all.

Tartine has been doing some fantastic prepared heat your own family meals.

The one time I went to Junior's pre-pandemic I was underwhelmed to say the least.

what did you get? I get the hamburger and onion rings right before the shutdown and they were both on point.

Junior's is owned by good folks, as is Lula.
1000 Figs is great takeout as well.

Blue Oak is a good one. Their specials have been better than their regular menu BBQ items
Had a bad experience with Juniors family meal. They have a great chef but the thing was trash. Their regular menu items are way better

I want to try their regular menu. I have really enjoyed the Chinese food they have been doing and I also really liked the chicken parm family meal with cheese sticks a couple of weeks ago.
I’m going to have to try Blue Oak soon.

Several old threads on this but pics are gone
We just season them & fry in oil less fryer
Eat with biscuits & syrup

Lola's,St. James Cheese Co., Mais Arepas, 5 Happiness and Katie's have knocked it out the park. Pizza Domenica was so bad, I have sincere doubts I'll return even after the restrictions are completely lifted (ice cold even though I had to wait; failed to provide an item after it was paid for and it took over a week for them to refund the price of the item). Ordered shrimp po-boys from Katie's - they put the lettuce, tomato and pickles in a separate bin to keep them from getting the sandwich soggy.

They have been putting out some really good stuff. Not sure why they haven’t been selling the salad wraps over the years and I’m kind of addicted to their Greek boxes
In BR Thai Kitchen like doubled their portion sizes for most dishes which was nice.
