This is an underrated measuring point.

Most places have either great, crunchy batter and not enough meat, or enough meat and a thin layer of soft batter.

I have yet to really find a good balance.

Brewbacher's had a pretty mean chicken fried steak plate lunch. Sammy's ain't bad either.

I would have agreed with you up to about 1998 or so. But they have longed switched to frozen Wal-Mart type meat.
