2005-2005 server at Landry's Seafood. Lasted two weeks. Got tired of two certain demographics not leaving a tip after making me bust my arse.

My aunt owned a catering company for about 25 years. Worked for her two summers while in college.

3 1/2 shifts at a popular chain restaurant. Boss was a sociopath and I quit in the middle of a shift with 4 open tables.

3 years in the banquet department for a hotel/conference center, most of that time as a bartender. Thank god for gratuity included in the catering package because cash tips were crap in that gig. It was mostly fun, easy job though.

I worked at chili’s while in college (01-04). I did everything from to go, bar tending, expo, and a few shifts on the fryer here and there.

I would have loved to move into management but Walmart waved a bunch of money in my face and I was young and dumb so I took it.

That's as close as I got to being in the food industry. Worked at a produce stand one summer as my first job and three different grocery stores during high school and college.

I could have never handled working at a restaurant, especially dealing with the customers in any way.

Wow I have worked at way too many restaurants to list and would probably give out too much personal info for anyone who may know me. But a few of the highlights:

Samuel's Restaurant - Busboy / Dishwasher
Rotolo's Pizzeria - Cook / Server
Chili's - Server
Chimes East - Server

Then I graduated college and got a "real" job. I do miss waiting tables every now and then. The money was fantastic and cash every night, relatively stress free, although the lifestyle would likely kill me know We would close the patio down at Chimes East and leave around 2:30 AM, then head to a buddy's house with a case of beer and drink / play poker until around 6 AM then head home and wake up at 3pm to do it all again.

I can't imagine Walmart management being much worse than chain restaurant management.
