Pair that with some cardamom ice cream and you have a dessert that is out of this world!

I had this in December as part of the chef’s tasting. I was skeptical, but it was delicious.

The dish that is popping in to my mind now is the artichoke, truffle and parmesan soup with truffle buttered brioche to dip in it from Guy Savoy in Paris.

My Pawpaw's chicken stew. He cooked a killer gumbo too, but his chicken stew was to die for. My mom comes close, but her's is just a pinch of something less than.

These will sound strange, but that is me.
This place is gone now and I would give anything to go back for just one more visit. If I had only known.
- Steak Finger Basket, from Hickory House Bar on Capitol Street, Jackson, 1955 - 1972.
- The first spaghetti my wife ever cooked for me, maybe a week after our marriage in 1971.
- Any of a hundred burgers grilled by my Dad (RIP)
- One more hotdog and beer at Jackson International Race Track with my cousin Tommy (RIP), or Jackson Drag Strip.
So I wont upset everyone
- Wagyu beef live shrimp and live fish in Tokyo (part of a 2500 dollar meal for 4 that I didn't pay for).
- A mystery meat pie and quinine water at the restaurant looking southward out over the escarpment from the north camp of the Hwange Game Preserve in Zimbabwe, Africa
- The next meal I have with my wife (MHNBPF) - probably tomorrow.
Too Much - Enough

Wow MD I didn't know you were prone to overindulgence in your past.
It made me think of this quote:
It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues.

It's a couple way tie between some pastas I had while in Italy.... cacio y pepe in Rome...possibly a carbonara I had from a little spot in Venice

Foie Gras at Charlie Trotter's Chicago ( had the kitchen table) in 1999 paired with a 1961 bottle of Chateau D'Yquem...that was a $2300 appetizer !

I did get it at a restaurant. The restaurant describes the pasta as homemade. It is an amazing place and I will never forget it.

I had Uni at a small sushi place down a back alley in Tokyo a few years ago. It was a part of the chef's choice meal that I ordered. I had to force it down and thought I was going to puke right there in the restaurant. It definitely seems to be a love it or hate it type of item.
Definitely. If you don't like liver, you probably won't like uni. I think of it as the foie gras of the sea.

That was my other option, only it was their version at Liverpool House, since we couldn't get a reservation at Joe Beef...
