It will be interesting to see how this affects LA RS 14:95(E), which is a criminal statute that prohibits the possession of a firearm while in the possession of a CDS, except when it’s less than 14 grams of marijuana.

“ If the offender uses, possesses, or has under his immediate control any firearm, or other instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable use as a dangerous weapon, while committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence or while unlawfully in the possession of a controlled dangerous substance except the possession of fourteen grams or less of marijuana, or during the unlawful sale or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, the offender shall be fined not more than ten thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not less than five nor more than ten years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Upon a second or subsequent conviction, the offender shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than twenty years nor more than thirty years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.”

This law is intended to prevent drug dealers from possessing firearms in furtherance of their drug trade. The rationale is that gun violence readily occurs between drug dealers and those ripping off drug dealers.

This ruling could result in unintended consequences.

I believe the new 6th would be in his district.
With Miguez looking like he is going to run in the 6th district race, that opens up the field of the 5th to an actual race. Who is everyone liking in this race?

Carro decided the subsequent search of the backpack at the stationhouse "as a valid inventory search," so the items discovered there, including the alleged 3D-printed gun used, a notebook and handwritten slips of paper with purported escape routes, will be allowed at trial.

Under Louisiana jurisprudence, the entirety of the contents of the bag would likely be admitted under the theory of inevitable discovery even if there was a flaw in the initial search. The discovery of the contents, and therefore the contents themselves, would go to the weight and not the admissibility at trial. It’s the same as a chain of custody argument. I guess New York doesn’t have the same law.

Turning Point Action would beg to differ. It seems that you forgot what they delivered during the 2024 election and now the Indiana state-wide races are a taste of what’s to come.
E. & G. Cappelli

E. & G. Cappelli out of Naples, Italy is my pick as the best value for handmade neckties. Great fabric options and you can pick the number of folds, tipping, length, width, interlining, and whether or not you want a loop/keeper.

The administration’s sunsetting of the de minimis tariff exemption made these ties more expensive, but you can still land one in the US for less than $200 per tie (less if you buy more than one, as FedEx/DHL charge a brokerage fee based on a shipment and not the number of items in the shipment). I have a few of these ties, and was probably my favorite find of 2025.

Sam Hober, as mentioned in an earlier post is in the same category.
Am I the only person that thinks the GOP would have been in a better position if Crockett were the DEM nominee? I wouldn't put it past these moderate white women to buy into the garbage this POS is selling.

I don't really know Texas politics, so hopefully someone with knowledge there can provide some insight. Does this guy have a legitimate chance of beating Cornyn or Paxton in the general?

My favorite German restaurant that I've ever eaten is on Wisconsin Ave, just north of Georgetown. It's called Old Europe and is outstanding!
I’m a month shy of turning 39, but I vaguely remember the initial launch of US troops from Kuwait in 1990. I would have been 3 years old.

I also remember the events surrounding the Clinton inauguration. I don’t really remember the inauguration itself, but I remember watching news reports of Bush leaving after the inauguration on Marine One because I was (still am) a huge aviation nerd.

The earliest clear recollection of a major news event was probably the events surrounding Waco in 1993 then the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.
Not sure about your shoe size, but I have a pair of Lucchese Black Cherry Caimans size 11D listed on eBay right now that is below your target price.
Dinesh D’Souza would be a good choice, and I hope they get him for one of the events. His intellect and demeanor is perfect for this format.
I’m here and about 90% of every available seat is already taken. We are still an hour and a half away from the official start time.

I'm sure most pastors don't want to bring politics into church…

Politics being downstream from spirituality, and culture being downstream from politics; I don’t understand the sentiment of not discussing politics. Pastor’s have a responsibility of being shepherds to their flock. I would find a different church if my pastor stayed silent.

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

You are spot on. I guess the decision is whether $2000 is worth the extra effort.

If you trade in also consider the tax savings on the new car purchase.

Is the tax savings based on the actual trade-in amount or is it based on the trade-in minus the payoff of the loan? The trade-in would likely make me upside down on the car I own by a few thousand.

Yeah, I realize that.

They were really low. Not anywhere near the range of kbb’s value. Granted I understand that Volvo’s aren’t cars that most people seek out, but that may just mean that it takes longer to sell privately.

I like this idea. I listed it on Autotrader, although I priced it probably a little high, but still lower than the price that Autotrader suggested.

It’s a 2021 S-60 T-5 Momentum AWD with 100,000 miles. It’s been a great car, but wanting something different.
Obviously. I’ve not had any issues with the car at all, but knowing European cars’ reputation as being costly to maintain, this might give some buyers pause. I wouldn’t put it in the same class as BMW or Mercedes relative to maintenance costs, but it’s not as easy and inexpensive to maintain as a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. Just giving the OT my thoughts.
