I'm generally not a food snob and enjoy pretty much anything, but there are a few things I see friends/family do when cooking that bother me way too much. I never say anything, but I'm sure thinking it.

Some of mine:

Using Italian dressing for anything other than salad

Marinating quality steaks

Using Cream of ________ soup in a recipe

Cooking meats on the grill wrapped in foil the entire time.

Meatloaf burgers

What brings out your food snob?

--Cheap/industrial cheese....like green can Parmesan and pregrated mild cheddar (coated in celllulose & mold-inhibitors)
--American style soft sandwich bread....Bunny/Evangeline Maid/Sunbeam is just VILE. Would rather go without than eat it.
--Goopy seafood pastas loaded with processed cheese. No, thank you, I don't want any mushy crawfish fettucini made with Velveeta.
--Crap chocolate in fancy wrappings. Bad chocolate is still bad chocolate, even if it is European and in a designer tin.

dipping steaks in ketchup or steak sauce. my wife does this. I try to tell her to not do it to taste the flavor of the steaks but she refuses.

for me, it's usually just ignorant people talking about others likes, dislikes and preferences..

I don't trust people that grill those cheap red hotdogs. That's catfish bait.

Other than that, I'm good.

mostly just when people bash things that they do not understand or refuse to try foods because of new ingredients

like "why you gotta put all that fancy stuff in mac and cheese? I ain't eatin' dat. Just give me Velveeta"

or "that ain't how mama made [insert food here]. Looks weird"

Stupid. It's also good on sandwiches and as a grilling marinade for chicken.

Marinating quality steaks

Is a very useful tool when using lower grade meat, and is excellent for flank steak. Not everyone is using prime aged kobe beef.

Cream of mushroom soup is excellent for many crock-pot meals and baked dishes.

wrapping meats in foil on a smoker has its place, but I agree in that it should never be done for the entire time it's cooking.

Meatloaf burgers

Can be good. Different strokes for different folks. I generally don't prefer them, but I had a "meatloaf" burger yesterday that really hit the spot.

red jambalaya
seafood in a jambalaya
sour cream on mexican food
too much mayo and/or not enough seafood on a po'boy
not seasoning a hamburger patty
cooking MY steak to well done (I don't have a problem with other people getting steaks at well done as long as mine is no more than a medium)
american cheese
gooey cheese sauce
raw onions instead of cooked

I'm a sucker for raw beef. I'm deciding on french restaurants for Saturday night dinner in NOLA and probably pick the one that has tartare on the menu. Bullshitty reason to choose one over the other, but raw beef with a quail egg is tough to pass up.

I'll eat recipes with cream of ___ soup all day and will 99.9% of the time enjoy it. I'll eat frozen pizzas with no care. I'll eat cheez-wiz on a cracker and not even blink an eye. I even like the gum in those old baseball card packs.

But if some a-hole gives me a knock-off brand Oreo, we are fighting.

I have to draw the line somewhere.

None really. Give me a cold beer and hot sauce with anything and I'll eat it.

This is my biggest pet peeve. A lack of will to try things is the worst.

I couldn't imagine it any other way. I can't remember the last time my Jambalaya wasn't red or had shrimp in it.
