What are the best kitchen tongs?

Need one for the kitchen, not a giant one for the grill. Thanks.

This is subjective. You gotta try out a few pairs to find what fits you. Three clicks to check the tongin' action is pretty standard in the industry to find what you like.

I have different pairs for different surfaces and whatever food I'm using them for. The best route is to get several different types all cheap.
Some work better for flipping delicate foods, others better for multiple items at once like vegetables. Some work better on flat surfaces like a skillet and others on grates.

Most of our utensils are oxo. Watch too many America’s test kitchen reruns

Can’t seem to link, but…
Love my Rosle thongs. One-hand operation comes in handy. Turn and squeeze to lock and unlock.

I have several pair of these and they work great. I ordered some for a few friends after they commented on mine. They all love them. Easy to use on BBQ or in the kitchen. The wide mouth allows you to pick up food without it falling apart.

I will also cast a vote for OXO. I have a couple pairs with metal grabbers and a pair with silicon grabbers for the nonstick pans. I love them and I don’t understand how anybody functions in a kitchen without good tongs.

I'm the kind of person that will research and read reviews, rankings, etc. for almost any purchase, but tongs were not something where I felt the need. I have walnut wood kitchen utensils, so I have these walnut tongs from Williams Sonoma, purely for aesthetics. They work very well.
As other posters have said, OXO usually makes very good kitchen tools, so I'm sure they make a great tong.

I get a bunch of the Winco ones from RD every couple of years. Most of my industry friends use them.

Yup. Those OXO are the best IMO. They grip well, and the closing clip actually works.

These are very similar to the Edlund brand that I have used in all of my kitchens. I have a pair of the locking tongs in my kitchen drawer at home.
They are preferred by chefs because when closed, the entire length of the food contact surface touches because it is flat, unlike most tongs only touch at the tip when closed.
Like most things, you have to find what you like and what fits your style of cooking.

Oxo. Get one regular pair with metal tips because they are the best. Get another with silicon coated tips if you have nonstick pans or other pans you don't want to scratch.
Get the long ones. I also have a short set but don't care for them. Puts your hand too close to the heat, especially bad if frying.

I must be the only one who uses and prefer these
