La Fonda's food is terrible. All of it.

It's really not. I agree that their Mexican food is bad (other than the bean dip/salsa), but as he said their steaks, fried rabbit, and chicken wings are good. It's not one of the best restaurants by any stretch and I used to think it was bad before I knew what to order, but it's pretty good IMO.

You my boy are a prick! I'm sorry I don't think your idea of epic dining isn't mine. Food was average and prices were ridiculously high. And yeah I like Rocky's for what it is. And I'm surprised it took 13 pages before someone else stated this shite place, but then again when I ate there the place was empty

PF Chang's. While it's not a 5 star it gets a lot of hype. I didn't see much diff. b/t it and run of the mill Asian cuisine places.
Totally agree. I've given them several chances to prove they are as good as their popularity seems to indicate, but I've been disappointed every time. The food is very meh, and not very good at all.

I am going to say The Blue Dog Cafe in Lafayette.

Also, the first time I went to Prejean's in Lafayette, I was expecting it to be better, it wasn't horrible, but like I say. Expected better.

Man, I don't know about that.

On another subject, I see a lot of people mentioning that places are over priced. Are you just not used to eating at expensive places or do you think it's a poor value? Restaurant prices continue to rise.
Also, and I know it's obvious to just about everyone, but when you dine in a city, it's going to be quite a bit more expensive that your mom and pop diner.

o Prejean's in Lafayette,

was very good at one time, until everyone jumped on the Cajun band wagon, when you advertise a welcome for tour buses, you've sunk to the Golden Corral of your genre

And there it is. "I'll convince myself this is good food because I've always gone here."

The OP was about restaurant's you feel are overrated. If you think La Fonda is good, bully for you. I think it's overrated garbage.

Who is overrating Lafonda? Nobody claims its some 4 star culinary experience.
It's a good place to go with a group of people eat mostly avg food (except the steaks which are good), and get drunk on margaritas and whatever else. It's also a good place to brink kids because they can pretty much be as loud as they want
