In town for business next week. Will be eating with with a small group of guys at least once and probably twice. Staying at one of the convention center hotels and looking for walkable. Looking for good food but not stuffy. Strong bar would be a plus.

Cochon? Sac-a-lait? Peche?

There’s a lot. I spent a week near there a few months back and ate somewhere different every night. Cochon is good. There’s a wood fire pizza place near there that’s otetty good too.

Many good choices already listed. Emeril's is also near. May not be as "not stuffy" as you are looking for, but worth it just for that damned banana cream pie.

Cochon Butcher is a good casual lunch spot.

If you are wanting a stop for just drinks and finger food check out Auction House and grab a meat/cheese tray.
