From your postings I assume you live Uptown. A new WH just opened on Jefferson Hwy a couple blocks past Lowe's right before the S turn. I think they need a couple of months of food on the grill to really get the flavor into the meat.

yeah a brand new Waffle House is fools gold.
it’s shiny clean and bright but you need 6 months minimum grease buildup in the kitchen for the food to taste right
that sweet spot though while it’s still 1/2 way sanitary yet the griddles are broken in is glorious. The newish one by my house at the airport road exit is there now

I refuse to eat waffles or pancakes unless they are sauced with pure maple syrup. Corn syrup based syrup is disgusting.
Cane syrup is pretty darned good.
No idea if they offer it. I’ve never set foot in a Waffle House. Seems like someone is always getting stabbed or shot in one.

The GOAT breakfast right here. I'll take that over most brunches.

Your list is garbage as it didn't have the burgers, steak and eggs, or the grilled chicken biscuit on it.

I could use some greasy Waffle House today...

Dear Friend,
My list has the steak at number 2. Taking to heart some of the recommendations here, I returned to Waffle House after church today. So many recommended the hamburger that I had to try it. I was a little unsatisfied with it, as I could taste the freezer burn on the meat. I did not greatly enjoy the hamburger, although, I was grateful for it and for your suggestions. I guess that's why they call it Waffle, not Hamburger, House.
To be fair, I admit that I like thick burgers, like the one at Whole Foods and Ground Pati, and Waffle House patties were pretty thin, smashed burgers, which I think is the worst way to prepare a burger. The bread was plain and didn't do much other than shelter the beef like a manger a child. The vegetables on the side were a nice addition, but I don't eat burgers with anything except cheese. I thought about getting an egg on it, but decided that egg would alter my burger perception, so I opted only for the burger with cheese.
Apparently caviar is not an option on the secret Waffle House menu, and my server, Andrea, asked what caviar is. I responded, "Christmas lights for the moneyed," before explaining what caviar really is. I will sometimes get a burger with caviar, as the savoriness of the eggs blends perfectly with the beef. If you haven't had a caviar Whole Foods burger, I commend it to you with the strongest of compliments.
It was someone's birthday today, and apparently if you joint the Waffle House Regulars Club, you get a free waffle on your birthday. Of all the chains out there, WH likely has the worst members' benefits. But a nice gift they give you is a free song on the jukebox -- a happy birthday song. Unfortunately, the birthday lady put a dollar in it, so I was forced also to listen to a few of her favorite songs as well. One thing I really like about Waffle House is the lack of music. Most chain restaurants now blast unsavory music, polluting the air with unappealing ideas and unethical beliefs. Thankfully, my moral compass is fixed and my ethics are not very impressionable by the wiles of popular culture. But those whose ways are determined by voices, music, TV, sports, and advertisements, I pity.
I sighed with relief once the noise had terminated. I could once again listen to the soothing sound of a metal spatula hitting a metal griddle, WH servers bellowing orders to the grill master, the griddle sizzle, and the ruminations of regulars and newcomers alike as they talked shop and gossip. These are all beautiful sounds, for which I prayed with gratitude for the sense to hear them and appreciate them.
The was my first visit without an order of the All Star special. My spirit filled with such saudade, which was assuaged when Andrea brought me a complimentary side of bacon "on the house because I can see you're having a bad day." Random acts of kindness can do so much, so be sure you consider sharing in the kindness. As for me, it was so moving that I told Andrea to put everyone's tab on mine, which was greeted with hooray's and back slaps and handshakes. I would do this more often, but most restaurants serve alcohol and I will have no part in the purchase of America's deadliest drug. Temperance is another reason to respect the Waffle House.
The WH double cheeseburger with triple hash browns which cheese.
Another addition to an art installation I'm constructing.
Free side salad with the burger.
Dear Friends, I will certainly get the All Star next trip. I probably will never get another burger at WH, but for those who love their burgers, I hope you continue to enjoy them. Thank you all for the suggestions. I will continue on my pilgrimage and inform you of future WH meals.
Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

Speaking of Waffle House music, did you know they have their own record label? Waffle House Records. Look up “Special Lady (working down at the Waffle House)” by Billy Dee Cox.

Friend,
I was unaware. Thank you for that most random of information. I will ask my next waitress about it.

WH grinds there own prime brisket for hamburgers in the back, every morning at 6am. To say their burgers are not good demonizes their hard work every morning.

The cheeseburger is a bargain and the Fiesta omelette is legit, especially doused in their salsa. Nothing wrong with the ham and cheese omelette either.

The waffle house bump. Made me crave WH but unfortunately they're all like 15 miles+ from me.

The idea of microwaved breakfasts at McDonald’s even thirty years later makes my stomach turn.
As usual, your writing style and fabrications are getting old. All the MvMuffin sandwiches use real eggs that are cracked in house, the english muffins are toasted in house, none of the sandwiches are microwaved.

I’m not here to debate your list because to each his own and I applaud your write up. My comments-
1. As others have stated, a double cheeseburger with a side of hash browns may seem like a boring selection but it’s a thing of beauty when you eat your burger over your hash and let the juices drip and double season the browns. A couple of dashes of hot sauce and it’s to die for
2. Country Ham - this is not available in many places so it’s a treat to be able to get it. It can be a little dry but the salt cure mixes in perfection with your over easy eggs and either grits OR browns.

I’m a Texas Bacon Egg & Cheese man with smothered and covered hash browns. I always tell myself I’m going to order something different and every single time I order the same thing.

Cheese n eggs raisin toast plus hash browns. This. I read here on a Waffle House thread one year to ask for a Mexican egg omelet, not on the menu, but inquire about it.

Double chicken plate with sunny side up eggs, wheat toast and hash browns scattered covered and chunked.
I hope the chicken that the eggs originated from were not raped though.
