I agree that hops are a big deal.

But if someone told me that I could only buy GR beers for the rest of my life, I'd be cool with that.

I like envie better than commotion but I rather drink commotion for the rest of my life if that makes sense.

Reve, and GR are fantastic beers so they aren't just hops at parish

Agreed. Such a well balanced pale ale. I think the DDH Commotion has some skin in the game for best beer in the state.

I would put that beer in my top 5.

I remember the top 10 beer list from this board in 2014. We've come a long way

Gotcha, I would put it in a top 10, maybe,

Yep we have come a long way, but we have come a long way. I'd pick 4-5 beers at Courtyard before this.

Like I said great time in LA, only getting better.

I'm currently enjoying Gnarly Barley's Brightside and I really like the Radical Rye.

I think a few others are, no doubt due to Parish and Great Raft success, stepping up their game. And we all are benefitting from it.

My thoughts exactly. Parish should be brought up before Nola or abita

I remember people on this board complaining about LA not being able to produce even one world class IPA. Now, there are a number of them, and the debate is over which ones are better than Orange Julius...

I really don't agree with the choice of The Commons as the best in OR. That may be because the farmhouse style isn't in my wheelhouse, but even so, I don't think it's tops in the state. The Commons does have a cool facility. I know Urinetrouble and Bottomlandbrew have both been there right after they opened in their current location, but they were still constructing at the time.

My favorite breweries are Block 15, pFriem, and Breakside because of the quality of their beers across the spectrum, and the one offs they produce keeps things interesting...

I really enjoyed Reve and could probably drink it year round.

If by that you mean because of their full suite of lagers and other styles I don't drink, maybe. Otherwise, meh.

Of course, Baton Rouge consumers can't really provide a fair opinion on any of their hoppy offerings because of the poor business decision GR made by choosing CCD to manage their aging warehouse, I mean distribution, here.

As much as I like Great Raft, Parish is my number one in the state. It is amazing how much has changed in the LA beer scene in the last 3-4 years.
