I have a friend that basically only shops at the BR Trader Joe's. I don't know how she does it because she goes even at peak hours.
But I do like their stuff, so on the rare occasion I want to go, I do like you say and go 1 hour before they close. Especially during the winter when it gets dark at 5PM. Hardly a soul in there past 7:30.

Their meat lasagna is delicious and a great price. For about $7 after tax you get four servings and it is really quite good.
It is often out of stock so I feel lucky when I find it.

I'll second the chicken shawarma thighs. Throw these on a webber kettle and make into a pita wrap...legit.
