Opinions on Ruffino's?

Overrated food, great atmosphere.

What are you looking for? I mean its hard to compare completely different food across all different price points. In general, I have enjoyed my experiences most at these restaurants:

Elsie's
Zorba's
K St. Grill
Nino's
Chimes

After that there are plenty good restaurants, but its entirely dependent on what you are looking for and what you are willing to spend.

Do people still go to Stroube’s? I don’t hear it being talked about on here as much as it was a few years ago

I've eaten there once or twice. It was OK. I kinda got a bad impression because I used to hang out with a bartender there and he disliked the place and the chef. Like he was making fun about how they bought a cotton candy machine so he could make garnishes of bacon fat cotton candy.
I think Stroube's thrives on events at the River Center/Shaw Center

Maison Lacour

Ashamed that I've never eaten here before after only hearing praise for it. Need to fix that soon.

Lol why? They serve shitty over priced wanna-be pot pies. I went once and was not impressed at all and have never been back.

Their fried chicken and red beans is one of the best meals I've ever had in BR

We ate at the BR ruffinos once and hated.

Ive been once and can do a better cedar plank redfish dish on my Weber. Ruffino’s would be a top 250 restaurant in Nola.

I'm not here to defend Elsie's, but you should give them another shot. You may have had a bad meal, but give them another shot before you completely write them off. ALso, they sell more than pies
