They might get stagnant in the middle of summer, but will pick back up in the Fall. In South La. of course.

Water them well and often and I think they'll be fine.

Picked a few yesterday.. and yes they were great.

Planting this late you may want to try a heat tolerant varity.

I have heard good things about Bella Rosa's and I planted a few weeks ago.

Geauxt my buckets are outdoing my garden tomaters

hard to explain,,, but in the past i normally plant so many maters that if 10 or 12 plants die, i still have them running out my ears..
Different circumstances now,,, Farmer Brown is now a "bucket farmer" and I have to take more notice and give them better attention...

Solar Fire is a variety I had good luck with last year. I planted 8 of them middle of last week.

Somebody help me out. I planted Patio variety in a container in mid-March. They have been loaded with tomatoes for 3 weeks now, but the tomatoes aren't ripening. I get full sun everyday and water is not an issue. What am I doing wrong. Thanks guys!

Yes I am fertilizing and the plants themselves are still growing. The foliage is a beautiful green and they don't look sickly at all...just the tomatoes aren't ripening. Thanks for the help.

what are you fertilizing with? your plants should be focusing more on fruit growth now as opposed to plant growth.

I've got 3 plants from seed in late Feb. that are now 3 feet tall. They are not growing well. I replanted 1 in soil. 2 are still in pots. The 1 in soil is dying. I'm pretty sure the problem is lack of sunlight. I moved one out on the lakeside dock for more sun as an experiment.

My property is like a dense forest. Not good for tomatoes. The peppers are doing well.

Relax. They'll come around. I've got a bunch too but I've picked a bunch that I put in early.

Another week to ten days and I'm going to be tomato heavy.

And what Gee said. Go to Naylors and buy whatever his current heat tolerant variety are and ask him.

Pick one and set it on the kitchen counter for a few days and see if it turns red.
