Their governments? Local restaurants? Bars? Concerned citizens and nanny soccer moms?

The prevailing theory would be bars and restaurants that are losing business to the taprooms.

The complaint is that brewery taprooms are "acting too much like retailers."

Do we know for sure that Avenue Pub is stiring shite?

No, we don't. People get pissy and talk shite about Avenue because they don't like dealing with Polly. She doesn't take no for an answer and she makes sure she gets what she wants. That's why Avenue is as successful as it is. And in the process I'm sure she's strong-armed some individuals to get some things she wouldn't otherwise have gotten; I've heard stories. But this does not seem aligned to her methods.

Other places in the city, however, have no problem running off to the ATC.

This shite bothers me.

I can't understand how simply promoting your business can be deemed illegal.

I really can't grasp how a restaurant would take an antagonistic view of a thriving brewery. To me, if you know people enjoy going to a local brewery's tap room, you would make a bigger deal out of carrying their product in your establishment and maybe even ask them to do an event like a beer dinner or release party for a house beer. You wouldn't want to put them out of business.

That the agency can be manipulated that easily by a few assholes is the real underlying problem though.

Certainly seems like a 'cutting off your nose, to spite your face' type strategy that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense if true.

I don't have a problem sending an e-mail.

B and Boo - Can you give some bullet points on what to say? There was a lot of back and forth over what was and what wasn't allowed.

If everyone starts writing in and complaining about faux issues, the e-mail campaign could become counterproductive.

Still waiting to hear back from a few people to make sure everyone is rowing in the same direction.

Gotcha. I saw the e-mail address, and I thought this might become a clusterf&$* if everyone starts going off half-cocked over stuff that isn't even true.

My advice would be to hold off on the e-mails until we make sure that the points we're making are valid.

Legislature is in session in case the law needs changing. The Guild should craft a law or some regs on this point.
