The Kroger deli here makes them, they are pretty good. I swap them in for breakfast to break up the eggs and oatmeal routine. Never had frozen ones out of a box though.

Cotto Salami: started to put that on my list, but wasn’t sure anyone would remember it. That was some exotic eats at our house. It wasn’t just regular shitty salami, it was cotto salami. Might as well have been flown in from Italy.

I roughnecked with a guy that would bring Vienna sausages for his lunch. I can still hear and smell it " Oh hell I better have some Puppy Peters" and then he would microwave them.

My dad was from Michigan and he loved sauerkraut. It's very big in those states up north. To appease my old man we were forced to eat that crap about once a month. It was cooked in a pot that also had weenies and potatoes. That stuff smelled really bad when it was being cooked. My old man ate the kraut along with white bread that was smeared with peanut butter. When I went to visit my relatives up there many houses had something that looked a butter churn with a brick on top of it. My dad told me that the churn was fermenting cabbage to make kraut. The brick was on top in case the kraut exploded. Those people don't look at strawberry short cake as a dessert but the main meal. They also would scoop small fish in a net and would take the small fish home and batter them and fry them. The small fish was never cleaned they ate the whole thing. They called the little fish smelt. I swear that those little fish looked like minnows

You just reminded me of when the parents needed to make another trip to grocery but us kids were hungry for lunch ...

1/4" thick slice of Velveeta cheese loaf on white bread with French's mustard. (like 3-4 slices of individually wrapped slices thick)

Remembering it reminds me of why I forgot about it

One of the best parts of having kids is getting to relive all of the classic kid food items. Things like dino nuggets, uncrustables, kid cuisines etc. I basically have 1-2 dino nuggets every single night these days.

For me as a kid, the two things I remember eating almost every single week was the kid cuisine nugget dinner and the chef boyardee pizza. At some point chef boyardee could only be found at walmart which I haven't been to one in 10+ years

Reminded me of the Charles Chips deliveries. Place the empty tins outside and the delivery guy would replace with full tins. Chips or cookies.
