The smoked burger from whole foods is a myth. Lol
Is it really? I've always wondered if that was some sort of board inside joke

The AV set up is real nice in the new Swamp Room.
I’ve had the WF smoked burger. It’s like chewing on a hockey puck. I don’t think they still sell them.

I’m a cold cheese type guy. Texture and flavor is much different. Melted cheese sucks

They still smoke any meat? I don’t go into WFs anymore.

Personally, I like the contrast of cool grated cheddar on a thick hot burger.
(I think gooey melted cheese is better on a thin smash griddle burger.)

I think sharp cheddar taste much better when it's not melted. I think most cheeses taste better when not melted.

We (Ben’s) shred our cheese ourselves. It’s served cold but when you order ask for it melted and it’s not a problem. It’s a game changer. Only reason we don’t melt it every time without being asked is the amount of wasted cheese Falling through the grill would be super expensive over time and the grill would need constant cleaning.

I haven't had one in 25 years but maybe I will go get me a swamp burger.

Haven't been to the Swamp Room in years.
The Harbor on 17th St. off Causeway makes a damn good burger!
Not sure if anyone will remember O'Reilly's on Tulane Ave. across the street from St. Joseph church(not there anymore. It was next door to Rosenberg's furniture store. you know 1825 Tulane.......). They made a pretty darn burger too.

We stopped by there last night on the way back from Krewe de Vieux. Excellent burger and really good wings. Service was kind of awful.

I have an interesting personal story about the Swamp Room. Perhaps when I have the time and inclination, I will share it with you. Until that time, I leave with with the ten best burgers of the NOLA Metro:
10. New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Co.
9. District Donuts
8. Buffa's
7. Bud's Broiler
6. Ground Pati
5. Lakeview Harbor
4. Beach Corner
3. Snug Harbor
2. Houston's
1. Whole Foods
Smoked, without cheese, without any toppings, without any sauces. Hamburgers par excellence should come this way. Just as the best French fries are those that require no sauces or catsup, so too do the best burgers require only a bun. Additions to masterpieces are subtractions. Of course, there are few burger masterpieces available out there, even with the bourgeois burger boom of 2008-2015. These demimondes' flaws the cook attempts to hide with catsup, cheese, other meats, eggs, and salads. Whole Foods' burger is sans pareil and is best served only with a bun.
Faithfully,
TulaneLSU
All that, and you DIDN'T have time to share an interesting story?
