The styrofoam container that my hibachi came in tonight will still be here in 500 years

And probably longer.
There is so much ‘will be here essentially forever’ plastic waste associated with our food supply.
I avoid restaurants that are all plastic and styrofoam. In this instance it was a new place and I didn’t know that was the only option. And the food tasted great, but man I am having a hard time with the packaging.
Has anyone had any luck taking their own reusable containers to restaurants?

Burn it in your firepit baw. It will shrivel up nicely.

I also burn Styrofoam. I figure in the small amounts I end up with it that it's better off burned than hanging around for hundreds of years.

Dissolve in Solvent.
You now have napalm.
You're welcome.

Cane's is trashy bastards. There's so much garbage left over. The little cups for the overrated sauce and ok coleslaw. The styrofoam box. Plastic fork and its plastic wrapper. The cup, cover, straw, straw wrapper. Napkins. And the uneaten all-right-da fries that will last longer than anything.

We need to load up a bunch of trash barges and let Elon Mush continuously shoot all that crap to outer space.

This is my solution to almost everything.

You should be able to do this with your leftovers if seated at a table, but getting a restaurant to put to go food in your own container might be a problem

That's a requirement in progressive cities.

There's a liability problem with customers bringing their own containers. How does the restaurant ensure the containers they are receiving are food safe, cleaned, and sanitized?
One solution would be for restaurants to offer to clean and sanitize containers or provide a container exchange service.
Customers could buy containers and return them to the establishment when making a new food purchase. The product would be packaged in new or cleaned and sanitized previously used containers. They wouldn't actually use the containers that are returned by the customer for the same customer. Returned containers would have to be cleaned and sanitized properly before being be reused.

If you’re that fricking worried about it, quit ordering take out and cook your own meals.
Get out of here with this stupidity. People like you are why restaurants quit catering to certain groups (vegans, tree huggers). no matter what they do, the demands made to one-up the other virtue signalers become too overwhelming so the business eventually says screw it all and you wind up with nothing.

Cook your own food and you wouldn’t have to worry, stop bitching about some restaurant trying to make it in today’s world. I really hope this is a troll post.

Styrofoam is great. In the end, it’s not going to be a product that keeps the cold side cold and the hot side hot that does us in.

should have eaten in the restaurant so you can get some shrimp thrown in your face

I'm all for using less single use plastic when possible but I will never give up straws. Paper straws drive me insane and makes me never want to go back somewhere that gives them out

I would imagine there would be some liability issues with you bringing your own containers.

Where would a restaurant store the unclean and unsanitized containers? And when would a dishwasher have time for additional things to clean?
