Easily one of the best filets I've had is the steak au poivre at 2 johns in Bossier....fricking perfection

I compare back to RC as well but Ive always thought it was a childhood thing. The first time you taste something that good its hard to forget. RC was my first steakhouse experience as a child so its what I always go back to. I will say that this is strictly for the filet though.

I just don't necessarily agree that it should be the driving qualifier for a steakhouse.

A qualifier should be overpriced a la carte sides and $120.00 bottle Prisoner.

I prefer strips so I can’t comment on OP’s request. I’ll eat a steak out from time to time but seldom do I go to a steakhouse unless it’s someone else’s choice. Even better if it’s their check as well.

For steaks in New Orleans I highly recommend Doris Metropolitan and La Boca. Ruth's Chris is great too, but its hard to beat the steaks from Doris and La Boca.

Saturday Nov 7th - Sullivan’s served the worst rib-eye I have eaten anywhere. Ordered medium rare could barely cut through the silver skin & trash with a steak knife. I never complain, ate 2 bites, cut the balance into bite size pieces & fed my dogs a $50 steak.

As far as good steaks - if you visit the Jackson Ms area. Never a bad meal at any of these.

1. Walker’s Drive-In
2. Shapley’s Steakhouse
3. Koestler Prime Steakhouse

I've had better steaks than RCs (I'm more of a NY strip guy), but I love the BR location. The consistency of their steaks is ridiculous, and I really like the people there. It's a fantastic meal and experience.

Like you, Martini, I prefer my steak cooked in my kitchen or on my grill. I do like someone else to make my salad and bring it to the table where I am seated with a glass of wine or a Miller Light. If the salad is good (cold and crisp), I am not necessarily all that interested on whatever else I ordered.

Are implying that potatoes, asparagus, and spinach don't cost $32 for a double serving?

All of a sudden, I feel cheated.
