With reduced capacities you have to be really proactive.

It also depends on how much you want to spend obviously.

Costera
Compere Lapin
Marjie's Grill (one of my personal faves)
The Elysian Bar
The Chloe

There are two casual tasting menu places:

Mosquito Supper Club (85 per person)
Saint Germaine (105 per person)

I've heard the Saint Germaine tasting is pretty incredible but that's reallllllly pricey for such a casual place in that neighborhood.

La Boca
Ancora
High Hat
Carrollton Market

Although those are all good, I’ll add Union Ramen and Bearcat Cafe (downtown location) to the list.

Costera is at the top of my list currently

N7 would fit the unique criteria

The five course chef's choice at Coquette is pretty damn amazing.

One of the few positives from Covid is that Galatoire's takes reservations for the downstairs dining room. I know it's not what you asked for, but it's a fine place for a celebration and long festive meal.

Love this place. It's awesome but not really a date night place.

Since you brought up the local Marxist restaurants might as well add to it.
