I don't think pushing someone to perhaps make something from scratch is that awful. I even provided a good recipe.
I've never had a good store bought tortilla. He asked for the best, I thought I'd provide great option.

it’s five ingredients
it requires nothing more than a bowl and a flat hot surface
there may be simpler recipes but there aren’t any easier ones

Rolling out the tortillas is what takes the time and effort.

It’s like if someone was asking for the best steakhouse and got responses of “just buy USDA prime and reverse sear it”. The response is irrelevant to the initial question. Maybe OP is aware that homemade are better but doesn’t want to put in the time or effort to make their own tortillas for any one of a variety of reasons.

Maybe he doesn't?
To address your example, the best steakhouse will serve USDA prime steaks. You can also make those at home. Theyll taste similar.
Homemade tortillas are exponentially better than store bought. If he wants the best, it's not the cardboard that passes in Kroger or whatever y'all have down there.

Tortilla Land are pretty good, I just can't find them too often. Never thought to look at Costco, but I need to.
I agree that once you're used to even grocery store uncooked ones, it's hard to go back to Mission, etc.

They sell the raw ones at Super1, also. For some reason, Super1 has great Mexican sections. these raw tortillas are game changers.

I agree. I hate the do it yourself responses when the question has nothing to do with it.
Raise a horse and break him to plow. Use him to plow a small field and plant some wheat. Fatten a hog. In a few months, you will be able to make some flour and lard that will produce the best tortillas ever.

Your local Walmart with more Mexican customers (and maybe even your local grocer), will usually have the uncooked tortillas in the cold foods area (usually near the cinnamon rolls etc), and all you have to do is slap them on the skillet and cook them, then you can throw a bunch in a tortilla container to keep warm.

I am smug as hell about tortillas too
If you knew how to be smug about tortillas, you wouldn't eat flour tortillas.
That's Step One in being smug about tortillas, my friend.
