Lets say you and your significant other were ordering to go food from a restaurant (lets exclude chinese for this question); Do y’all generally each order your own entree and stick to your own meal?
Or do any of you game plan on ordering 2 entree items agreed on and then splitting each one 50/50 to have some more diversity?

It’s become the new move of splitting down the middle and getting to enjoy 2 different menu items. And im not talking about sharing as in taking one bite of the others food and vice versa

Sandwiches, yes. Anything else, very rarely.

100% game plan. Especially Italian or Mexican. Strategically, you can get great bang for your buck and variety.

Usually prefer not to share entrees. Almost always share apps and dessert

We almost always share some, and about 20% of the time split dishes 50/50.

I'm more of a "you order what you want, I'll order what I want". Once in a while I may take a bite of what the wife ordered, but not often.

She, on the other hand, always wants to taste whatever I order.

Then, like earlier this week, I asked if she'd like to run to Liuzza's on Bienville and get one of their Frenchuletta's and we ordered that with an order of fries to share. She drank an iced tea and I had one of their famous frozen mugs of Abita Amber to go with it.

No way in hell either of us could have eaten the whole sandwich by ourselves.

Nah. I'm bigger, I get more, 65/35. She shouldn't eat as much as I do. Same ratio applies for space in the bed.

We usually order our own entree, but may split appetizers & sides…

Normally order what we want. Then wife takes a bite of mine and says she wishes she would’ve ordered that instead. So I lie and say I like hers so I can give her the rest of mine and eat whatever garbage she ordered. True romance

And then tells you she isn’t in the mood for the 3rd Friday in a row?

Vague answer but it just depends. For instance, if we’re getting Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, or something like that we typically split. Obviously hamburgers or something we don’t. We don’t typically order out on food like Italian.

My wife gets grilled chicken at every restaurant we go to - I want no part of that. I’m eating my own food.

We share a lot, but my gf doesn’t really do big meals. She snacks more throughout the day. So typically we find something we both want and share it for larger meals, as she will only want 1/4 of the dish or so.

Sometimes we share, especially at places that have huge portions, we won't each get an entree, we spit one. BRQ, Goodwood Grill are two places we love, we either get two entrees at lunch and have leftovers for dinner, or spit one.

The problems comes in when we go places t have spicy stuff, I get the hottest, spiciest thing on the menu, my wife gets the blandest.

It’s implicit, but my wife doesn’t eat much so there’s that. There are times she orders something that doesn’t interest me, usually an exotic Asian dish, like chicken feet, e.g. but its rare.

Game plan. We like the same foods although I like spicier than she does. We'll figure out what 2 things we both want to try. Not 100% of the time but if it's a new place we do that.

At usual spots we'll get what we each want. Probably trade some bites. She never finishes hers so she'll offer it to me or we'll save for later.

We do it different I order, she orders. Food arrives. She looks at mine and says”I should’ve gotten that”. I switch w her. It’s just food, you will do it again in a few hours.

More often than not, we'll share an app, and then share an entree.

And it still seems expensive as hell these days.

I'm happy for all you ballers.

Order separate 80% of the time but minor sharing is also common.
