Honestly a lot of people just repeat shite other people say without knowing anything

That’s pretty prevalent on most of these boards. TD isn’t necessarily chock full of independent thinkers.

Oysters Rockefeller and Veal Liver at Galatoires.
Braised pork cheeks and Tuna Shitake or Eggplant Parmesan or a pizza.

Ruffino's for Italian. Galatoires for more seafoodish stuff.

Both are great. Take into consideration the preference of food.

I don't go to Galatoire's that often anymore. The only things I like is the Poisson Meniere and the warm oyster salad. Ruffino's is always OK. I've never had a bad meal at Mansur's though I seldom recommend it. Juban's would be last on the list because I've had several meals that weren't good including the crab cakes.

The crawfish cheesecake at Ruffinos is enough for me to pick them over Galatoires.

True. My college roommate worked at Ruth’s and banned all Sinatra and Buble from the house.

You can't do that here

And for what its worth, Ruffinos is only good for atmosphere and chasing older women. The food has fallen off tremendously

I have no idea how the place is open. Went a couple months ago with two other couples. Had an absolutely awful dining experience. It was either a Friday or Saturday at roughly 730 and we were one of only 3 tables. At one point we were joking amongst ourselves that the waiters were probably “cooking” the food in the back with kelly McCann not there. The waiter walked out and we jokingly asked what they were doing back there and he literally replied they were “just throwing shite together”. We had three entrees comped that night.

Truth be told, the seared duck was still good though.
