Count the calories!!! You can lose without keto by still eating at a deficit you will just be more hungry lol. But weight watchers works for a reason-eating less calories!

Ok so started this a long time ago under a different name but fell off the wagon and now back to square one. I know what type of diet works but just want some advice on what the most popular workout plans are here for fat loss or where I can look up different workout plans?

Also any recommendations for protein/post workout or pre workout anyone takes? Or if you're looking for weight loss of its recommended to even take extra protein/post workout

Here's to starting another journey that hopefully I can stay on

SO and I are getting off of the keto train for a little bit. Shes been having some digestion issues while on keto so she wanted to change up the diet. She went keto with me so I'll change it up with her. I'll give it a little time and if the weight doesn't continue to come down I will go back to keto with or without the SO. Doing a 40/30/30 protein/fat

hey nothing wrong with a 40/30/30 ratio so long as he stays in a deficit. He just better be ready to add a few pounds of water when he first starts.

Hulk have you hit up the IIFYM calculator yet and figured out the calories you need at a 20% deficit?

Resisted yet another barrage of kolaches, donuts and cake balls.

I'm just over here eating my boiled eggs and pork rinds.

any of the strength programs in the OP will do. With you being a beginner I highly suggest you start with the greyskull lp program. Add in one of the greyskull approved conditioning exercises and you have a recipe for success. If you can swing it and want amazing results read this LINKand layer it into the program as he describes.

ON the conditioning exercises make sure you stick to the ones that are not that hard on your body, at least at first.

another option would be the greyskull LCI program.

the whole goal when dieting should be to maintain muscle and gain strength. This is where the heavy weight training comes in. This will allow you to maximize you metabolism and actually look good when the fat comes off.

the conditioning exercises will burn extra calories and help you reach your goals faster.

as far as post and pre workout nutrition. At this stage its not that important for you. If you want to take 25g of whey before hand and 50g after while sipping on a BCAA during, that would be the craziest I would get for right now.

Right now just focus on weight loss and the weights. Put in the work and everything else will take care of itself.

That poor bastard.

I haven't had a beer in about a month. Or bread. Or pasta. Or soft drinks.

Scale keeps moving though.

Yeah keep chuggin along. You don't rack disiprine.

And disiprine is what's most important. You got this.

I'm becoming concerned that I'm losing too fast. May have to add some calories back.

The disciprine, I has it.

210/187/180

Update from May 3.

I've been pretty strict keto since May 3.

Tossed or moved to in-law suite kitchen for guests all non-keto foods. I've had 2 IPAs since then and a handful of Miller Lites on yard/pool days. Otherwise pretty cheat free.

I haven't counted calories and haven't been hungry a second. I've eaten super healthy also. I've spent a lot of time in our big indoor farmers market, Costco, earth fare, trader Joes, and other grocery stores (+amazon, netrition, and vitacost), getting to know what healthy low-carb options each has.

I have only done my regular swimming, light weights, occasional rowing, and meniscus/bursitis rehab. No biking or running.

Results: I'm on the last belt-notch of my old "fat belt," so time to go shopping. Looking like about 15. % body fat.

210/183/180 (revised to maybe 175 depending how I look and feel and perform at 180).

Edit: 210/181/180 (water weight fluctuates a good 5lb but I'm not looking the gift horse in the mouth this am (5/30)

don't do strength training if you're looking for fat loss.

do 4 second negatives with one second positives
8 reps each
3 drop sets of the same 8 reps keeping the same tempo
40 second rests between each normal set, no rest or a max of 10 seconds rest between drop sets
take a timer to time your rests

this will force you to keep your form right with weight you can handle thereby decreasing your chance of injury while at the same time burning high calories with the time your muscle is under tension

40 minutes total in the gym (maybe an hour), after 40 min your hormones start dropping
if you go longer you need to take a carb supplement in the gym with you
take BCAA's as intra workout at about the 20 minute mark
30 minute max HIIT training if you do cardio

Aany recommendations for protein/post workout or pre workout anyone takes?

whey isolate protein for post workout, it's the fastest digesting
whey casein protein at night 2 hours before bed, it's the slowest digesting

pre workout focus on ingrdients for blood pump and endurance
for stimulant go with coffee. easier to regulate your caffeine intake and it heats up your body core allowing for more calories burned. I personally only do coffee while cutting

Recommended workout during deficit is high tension overload training. You want to retain as much lean body mass as possible.
