Sonic has this new Peanut Butter Cream Camp Cookie Master Blast... limited time only
I'm not supposed to have dairy and I'm eating clean cheat meals.... but it's a limited time only...
Should I indulge for my cheat meal??
Last Friday has a Brewbacher's burger and rice cakes

Coming late, could use some added accountability. Diet shift started 5/22. Cut out soft drinks and other sugar drinks like Gatorade, candy (I'm a sucker for sour stuff), fried foods, fast food, and trying to stay low in carbs. I shoot for 50g a day, probably pretty close to averaging that over the last 10/11 days. It's hard on the road when traveling for work.
My biggest sacrifice has been/will be beer. Eliminating all alcohol during the week and limiting myself to 2-3 over the weekend.

2-3 what? Beers a day, on the weekends?

2-3 beers over the whole weekend. Zero if nothing is going on, a couple if I am hanging out with people or on the course.

Nice.
I'm trying to get to that level.

It will definitely be the biggest challenge. Not so bad when I'm just hanging out with the family. Once I deplete the hops in the fridge, I won't be as tempted.
I can already tell a difference in just the last week and a half, though, so that's pretty good motivation.

Been going off reservations on Sundays (Amelie brunch with Arse and then pizza delicious this past Sunday) but righting the ship during week. Cheats definitely haven't been "clean" though I've made them count tastewise.
18 hour fast then some La Boca gainz. Meals like this are keto bliss. Provoleta (cheese, olive oil, and oregano), skirt steak, hanger steak, asparagus.

I know I said I was ready for the water weight #gainz, but I really wasn't. Hard not to start flipping out when you step on the scale and see 10 pounds gained in a week. I hope it levels off soon. I've been getting up at 5AM and working out, eating well, staying on top of calories and macros this week.
Some things I've noticed since switching back to carbs:
Pros:
-I feel way stronger in the gym, fasted or unfasted.
-I feel more energy all-around, more productive at work.
-Oatmeal w/chocolate whey, peanut butter, and banana is fricking delicious.
-Being able to grab a banana and protein shake on my way out of the door is super convenient.
Cons:
-My skin is a lot more oily, and have had several pimples break out.
-I'm hungry a lot more often, and hunger pangs are stronger.
-Harder to control cravings.
-WATER WEIGHT.
In other news, Woman's hospital has a program to test your BMR. I thought it was only for women since it's a women's hospital, but I called yesterday and they said they can test men, too. So I'm going to get my BMR tested. I've always felt like the numbers I get in BMR calculators are too high for me, but I'd like to know for sure. At $60 I think it'll be a good investment for my health.

Been doing really good with my diet recently. Even with the calories being upped the scale hasn't actually started to go up. Gym seems to be going better as well. Friday I get another shot at 230 squats which is where I had my first reset. Friday is also the end of my first 8 weeks running greyskull and not a single workout missed, actually been 10 weeks without missing which is pretty dang awesome for me.

What device are they using? Bodygem? I found those results to be not very accurate. It told me I was at 2500 cals resting before adding daily activity
I've gotten tested on a "New Leaf Active Metabolic Assessment System" and it was more in line with online calculators ~1900 cals and my real world experiences (based on the calories I know I eat)

No deloads in the 8 weeks?
I'm at week 15. Had to deload most stuff by week 13. A few muscle tweaks from being convinced to play in a rugby game certainly didn't help.

Yep. It's an adjustment.

Not sure, I haven't scheduled anything yet and did not think to ask what method they'll use. My SO got tested a few years ago and hers was significantly lower than any online calculator would give her.. by about 300 calories.
I figure it'd be nice to have a hard number to start from. Over the years I've found that ~14,000 cals/week on average will get me ~1 pound/week loss, so I'm thinking the online calculators are fairly accurate for me, but to me it's worth $60 to be tested and remove all doubt.

I had to deload squats at the end of week 6 and bench at the end of week 7.
my squat failure came due to a loss of grip, and what I'm coming to figure out was due to me having the bar too far down on my back. I've since fixed my technique and found the proper "shelf" and things feel 100% better now, so I feel confidant that I'm gonna crush my 230 friday where I failed it previously with only 4 on my amrap.
Bench deload was at 177.5 and I crushed 160 w/ 11 reps vs the 9 I did previously.
Overhead press is really damn close...I hit 102.5 for 6 yesterday, but I'm teetering on the edge of cheating by not always pausing at the bottom to reset.

Ok. I am really confused now. What is the difference between Keto and low carb? I've been under the assumption they were the same.
Posted on 6/2/16 at 10:39 am to shawtiger
think of keto as extremely low carb...I think most people in keto shoot for < 30 carbs per day...some < 20. Some may even be able to get away with < 50 but everyone is a little different.
