I asked here a few weeks ago about hiring a private chef.

Tonight, chef Jeremy Coco came and cooked a six course meal.

We were expecting an unbelievable meal. We got 100x better.

Here was the meal:

First two Courses:
Applewood Smoked Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with a 10 year aged Balsamic Drizzle

And

Salmon tartare

Third Course:
Smoked Roma Tomato Bisque

Fourth Course:
Organic Mixed Greens with Cane Infused Balsamic Vinaigrette, sundried cranberries, pink Himalayan sea salted cashews, red onion slivers, & 8 year aged white Irish cheddar

Fifth Course:
Filet Au Poivre with Butter Poached Lobster Meat and Maitre D’Hotel Butter
Herb Roasted Broccoli Raab
Bacon Scented Sweet Potato Hash

Sixth Course:
Triple Dark Chocolate Mocha Fudge Brownie with Rum Caramel Sauce and Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Pretty simple. Emailed him on his website (learned of him here on TD). He called me the next day. The price is what ever I wanted. I settled on $120 a person.

Sounds awesome.

Random aside, broccoli raab is always a basket ingredient on chopped.

The raab was awesome. Funny thing is, my least excited thing I knew he was bringing, ended up being my favorite thing, the bisque.

I DO NOT like tomato soup. Coco wanted to bring turtle soup but my wife wouldn't touch it, so I said the smoked roma tomato bisque would be fine, even though I really didn't want it.

That bisque was frickING incredible!!!!! There was not a single item of this meal that was sub great, but the bisque was just mind blowing.

Do the math.

You buy Mrs KTG a gift, candy, flowers, and dinner for Valentines. She buys you a gift.

What is that, $200-400 between you both?

This was one and done. We did it tonight because he is out of town the week of Valentine's, and I work next weekend.

that would be cool if it was just me and her....

...but she would have 6 to 8 other couples over at my place to enjoy the evening....

Whoever downvoted this post needs to seek help. Very nice. We have been part of a chef cooking for a private party and it really is special.

All the dishes look great. Thanks for sharing.

I picked up a bottle of merlot and a bottle of Chardonnay. The red was "Rabble" and the white was "Bread & Butter"
