Friend,
Thank you for your report and after looking at the pictures on its website, you can tell the owner takes pizza seriously. We will overlook what the Neapolitans would do if they learned Americans were putting pepperoni on their pizzas. I believe pepperoni inclusion is enough for the AVPN to say it is not Neapolitan. But they are quite the bunch of fundamentalists.
It looks like this will be a credit to the Northshore's pizza scene. Whether or not it will make it, and I hope it does, we will see. The people in New Orleans do not seem to value good pizza. It was a shame when Paulie Gee's shut down in the Warehouse District this year. Unlike the terrible Bonci's, PG's made an excellent pizza. Yes, it was a bad location, but there is a reason that, despite a promise to reopen elsewhere in the city, it has not. That reason? New Orleanians do not respect or value excellent pizza.
I look forward to a Food Board meet and greet at Pomodori in the near future.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

I met the owner. Nice enough guy. Made some snide comment about how there’s no real pizza on the Northshore (debatable). I’ll definitely give it a go. Thanks for letting us know it’s open.

The day that I went me n my girlfriend hit Greyhound, Meribo, Pomodori, and Leonardos and split a Margherita pizza at each. Rankings were similar but split.. 4,3,1,2 and 3,4,1,2.

Is that where that psycho punched the old man in the parking lot a year or two ago?

If mmomike was born in 1979, that’s not him.
For the other posters, Duman on Girod has legit pizza.

Scooped some up for dinner.
We got the stuffed shells appetizer - it was dynamite.
Wife chose the pepperoni and I went with the Pauly Gee. Both of us enjoyed the Pauly Gee more but no complaints about either.
Our 6 year old dominated the Pauly Gee so that’s encouraging.
We will definitely put this place in the rotation.

I stopped by yesterday with some friends and tried a few.. Mushroom with roasted garlic and lemon oil, pepperoni with white sauce, and fennel sausage with pickled peppers and roasted red onion, all great. You can actually bring in whatever you want to drink while they wait on their liquor license! No corkage.

Thanks for the review! We appreciate your business.

I do take pizza very serious. Agreed that the Neapolitans would not approve of Pepperoni. It's one of many reasons why I won't bother with a VPN certification (although I could easily).
One of my heros, Franco Pepe gave his VPN cert. back because there is zero room for creativity once you are VPN certified.
Paulie Gee does still plan to reopen in New Orleans. The buyer he had backed out on him so he has everything sitting in storage until he finds a spot. He wants to be Uptown.I wanted to buy his Pizza Master oven but he insists that he will reopen,I cant wait because I like his slices too.
